Jurassic punk ( this name ! ) doesn't deserve a decent rating this time cos' for me one of the best tunes performed by SSS was 'Dancerama' omitted from this rather sadly assembled package ( but present on the budget '21st century boys : the best of', although only in the 7" mix but also with the almost unbearable 'Success'-not a Pop/Bowie cover- also missing here so you have both albums complete when purchasing these two ). You know, I'm a completist so I think these guys ( ahead of their times, like the VELVET UNDERGROUND, but bringing joy on the dancefloors instead of sadness for needle restrooms users ) are more everything than radiobrain ( damage ) or desert galagher.

This CD has a reputation that you may not be aware of - it is one of the contenders for the worst album ever.

Now, everyone likes Elvis Presley, you might wonder what could make an Elvis Presley CD terrible. How about this? - It has no music.

Elvis's manager wanted his own CD to sell and seeing as he couldn't legally sell a CD of his music, collected the stage banter for a tour and recorded it. Often incoherent, never funny and only occasionally interesting (like him talking about his days before Sun Records), it is quite a task to sit through.

A real Novelty record and certainly the kind of thing that your friends will ask for you to turn off whenever you turn it on.

I have three of the original Harlequin LPs of Jones and his buddies, which I treasure. The sound quality is superb as with most Harlequin records. I haven't listened to the CDs, but assume that they are as good as the LPs.

This one contains a marvellous mixture of very amusing and deftly performed numbers together with some serious ones.

If you have never heard Spike Jones and his City Slickers, this is an excellent place to start... you'll be hooked!
