As befits anything given the nod of approval by legendary Pope of Trash John Waters, and as anyone who owns some of his movie soundtracks will expect, this collection is suitably bizarre, bewildering and at times outrageous - and therefore the perfect antidote to traditional Xmas collections (begone, Slade and Wizzard!)
All the tracks have a certain mad charm, from inspired covers of classics such as Tiny Tim's Antony-and-the-Johnsons-esque Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and Alvin and the Chipmunks' annoying Sleigh Ride, to bizarre original ditties such as the Santa-abusing Xmas-hating Here Comes Fatty Claus and the funky I Wish You a Merry Christmas (from the original artist behind the Locomotion, no less!). After watching Rolf on TV I bought this for my 4 month old daughter - I used to love the tunes as a kid and she adores the wobble board. There are so many upbeat tunes and nice slow ones for before bed. As soon as she hears 'Sunrise' and 'Johnny Day' she will stop crying and start gurgling. To see her in her bouncer bouncing to 'Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport,' and the 'Turkey Strut' and 'Six White Boomers' ,is good fun to her and us. However like a person above I was disappointed with Nick Teen and K Hall - it stopped it being a great album for everyone in the family.

Even more filth dirt cheap, a welcome return on CD from the original filthy monkey himself. As most of my old tapes of the classic albums had either been stolen by those who covet mucky songs, or turned to cassette dust (as these things tend to do) I was as pleased as Esther Rantzen at a rude vegetable contest to see this 'un available. This is top banana music from a time when you could play these songs at top volume and your neighbour would only ask where he could buy them from himself. A great collection of songs on "Fruity Bits" there is, although while I appreciate that it's not possible to please everyone all of the time, would it have killed him to include "My Brother's Magazine" in with the rest? Teddy Boys Don't Knit

After the Bonzos Stanshall's career stuttered from disc to disc .
Sometimes - as with " Men Opening Umbrellas Ahead " - you marvel that the disc ever made to the market . Brilliant in parts but thrown away .
Teddy Boys Don't Knit shows what he could do with a great producer and great musical support .
The disc has its downbeat side " Calypso to Collapso " but features some truly original masterpieces , Slave Valse , for example , which are quite ignored in comparison with the Bonzo hits .
If only he could have done more like this . He was truly inimitable

For years I have wanted a cd of Spike and now I have a PC and just made my first transaction I am amazed by the speed and quality of service. It is so good to hear the tracks as they should be instaed of an old 45 record. Well done all, I will be shopping again in the near future

Dejah Voodoo - the Best of Dread Zeppelin

First of all this isn't a best of, it's a reworking of former glories. Secondly this isn't the Dread Zeppelin I heard on Un-Led-Ed and 5,000,000. Gone is the attack and the humour and most of Tortelvis (who doesn't really sound like Elvis at all on this album).
Dread Zeppelin were a great band but they sound jaded on this almost Techno Pop offering.
Disappointing.

Richard Cheese is a genius, as far as a musician can be. The inventiveness of his lounge-style versions of famous rock songs has the ability to make large groups of people dance, laugh and sing all at the same time even if they've never heard of him before, especially at things like music festivals after the music's finished for the night, whack a bit o lounge against the machine on and you're set. My personal favourite is 'Creep' (originally by Radiohead), but all the songs on here are great to listen to. Wierd Al Yankovic is about as funny as finding out a relative has died. Simply changing certain words to songs and making stupid faces in videos is not witty. I hate him and everything he stands for. My ex-friend played this album excessively thinking it was funny. We no longer speak after i threatened to eviscerate him. Don't buy this, for humours's sake.
