I first bought this album when it came out in 2000. Since then it has easily been my favourite album, despite my musical tastes changing constantly since then. Words can't describe how near perfection this album is. The lyrics are not what I pay attention to, but I do like them. Being a guitarist, Jerry Horton's musical prowess on this album just made me awestruck when I first heard it. He doesn't show off with technical skill, but all of the music blends together perfectly and his riffing is the work of genius.
I might be the only one who thinks that way, but there's nothing I like more than to play along with the entire album start to finish.
A must buy. This album is fantastic, and what Papa Roach really is, as opposed ... Read More:

In my most humble opinion, lonely day is a belter of a track that fully warants being released as a single. Its tracks like this that prove system to be such a good, multi dimensional band. Overall the EP is top notch. My favourite track being "snowblind".
Just get it guys. A more than worthy piece in your personal puzzle!

this band is absolutely wonderful, after first recognising them with their excellent single 'drive' i was instantly hooked, and this album was no dissapointment.with heavvier vibed tracks such as 'nice to know you' and 'circles'to start with the album slips into an instant hit and never fails to relax the mind, the cracking track 'wish u were here' follows and then the superb 'just a phase'which is my personal favourite carries on the extremely high standard music being produced from this band, the only reason this didnt get 5 stars was 'aquous transmission' which seems to drag on and let the album down slightly.

Once again Static-X have created another incredible album, being their fourth release. 'Beneath, Between, Beyond' is just another example of what they can achieve by mixing industrial metal with hard-core rock. From the platinum selling 'Wisconsin Death Trip', Static-X have been able to build from that same industrial/metal genre to make their following albums: 'Machine' which included the track 'Cold' featured on the Queen of the Damned soundtrack and 'Shadow Zone' another amazing album which included their singles: 'The Only' and 'So'. 'Beneath, Between, Beyond' includes their ultimate collection of rarities aswell as remixes of the classics, it's a must have album for all the Static-X fans.

by gum,is this album really seven years old now,how time flies hey,and im even more shocked that i havent written a review for this until now,i swore that i had until i realised i hadnt ,well here it is,and my rating wont bring the five star average down one note hey.
Amen in 1999 released a debut that was powerful yet a little inconsistent,it knew where it wanted to go but didnt have the songs to get there, just a year later this was released and they passed the test in some style.
Amen were never metal, although that has been said, they would never sit comfortable in that bracket, with the drummer shannon hitting the skins the way he did, that notion gained pace but it simply wasnt true. The band have been called punk but of course the term punk ... Read More:

Well, the 1st soulfly album was great. A sort of nu-metal reworking of Sepultura which was good for one album. But Primitive was just the same with some 'friends' he bought along to make the album sound slightly different (Corey Taylor, Chino etc). You've guessed it, this album sounds exactly the same as the other soulfly efforts. The album sounds nice enough with good production its just that it is the same as every other bang bang nu-metal out there and some tracks that do try to be different (Tree Of Pain) dont't work at all. The one standout track is the cover of Sabbaths mighty Under The Sun which works very well. If you want some real brazilian metal try Sepulturas earlier work (See Beneath The Remains).

This album is definitely an improvement on the last album, and for some reason seems to sound "cleaner" than their previous one. That is to say, the screaming, roaring vocals in the last album are still loud and angry, but seem clearer and more distinct and thus are more powerful. The instrumental is as explosive as ever, and they can get the blood moving like few other bands. The best track on the album is "Beginning of the End", and some of the other tracks seem to have a mysterious resemblance to the tracks on the previous album, especially the intro sections of the tracks. This suggests the band have seen the flaws in the previous album, and used them as a spine from which to improve them. This band's sound is very much an acquired taste, so unless you are a ... All was not well with Faith No More by 1997. Going through four guitarists in three albums, Album Of The Year would prove to be their final record because, as they themselves said afterwards, 'we were starting to make bad music.' It marked the furthest departure from their slacker look of 1992, instead going for a cool, suited-and-booted look and sound.
Of the four albums with Mike Patton, Album Of The Year is the weakest (its title a show of the band's sense of humour), but despite what the band may have claimed, it's not by much. There's a number of non-songs and forgettable tunes, like generic opener 'Collision,' but for the most part, whilst not as experimental as before, the band are still in fine form. The dirty metal of 'Naked In Front Of The Computer,' ... Read More:

I'm one of these strange people that listens to a CD half-heartedly right through until I hear that one song that makes me sit up, and want to listen to each song individually. With both the Taproot albums, I have found each song to be one of those 'sit up and listen' ones. Track one, "Smile" is attractive in the fact that the lyrics themselves, are happy, cheerful ones, yet with a dark, trashing and often semi-violant guitar! The irony becomes almost beautiful. It's one of these albums that you can just whack in the CD player, and depending on your mood, come out with several different conclusions to each song. I can honestly say it hasn't left my CD player. I'd deffo recommend this to anyone who's even only heard one of the songs (More likely than not; ... Read More:
