I have heard Roorback and Dante XXI, and had mixed views about those albums so was really in 2 minds with Nation. However to my pleasure i was happily suprised with the end result. It is recoignisable as a Sepultura album, but its a different kind of Sepultura album. From listening to the Max Cavalera albums and being taken on board the Sepultura plain with them i have got used to the deep angry growls of Max's vocals. With Derrick Green on vocals the whole atmosphere of the album seems to change. Yes the strong powerful riffs and melodies are present in great volume, but there also seems to be a slightly more relaxed and, dare i say, softer feell to the songs in general. My Plague: New Abuse Mix

"My Plague" is the 2nd single off Slipknot's no.1 album "Iowa" and its fantastic! Brutal guitar work, skilled drumming and this song also demonstrates the versatile voice of Corey Taylor! Yes, we all know he can scream and he does it very well but he can also sing melodically as well, as has been demonstrated in this song's chorous. Also included on this single is "Heretic Anthem" and "(sic)" live as well as the "My Plague" video. All in all, a quality track from a band who know what they're doing.

Limp Bizkit will never go down as one of Metal's Classic bands - but neither are they the worst either!
In Sam Rivers, there is a really good bass player -seriously, the guy is seriously underrated (I wouldn't have minded this guy replacing Jason Newsted in Metallica), DJ Lethal isn't the best DJ in the metal world (I'd go for Aaron Pause from Mordred) but he still adds texture, and Wes Borland is a strong rhythm player with some crushing riffs & a really hard tone. John Otto is a pretty average drummer, but then again I don't think Rap Metal, generally, asks a great deal from it's drummers so maybe there's more in the tank.
What often lets the band down, far more on this CD than the others is Fred Durst's childish lyrics with a ridiculous ... Read More:

Jon Davis, korn's front man has said that the odd numbered albums are their best, and boy was he right. Follow the Leader, the third album, and follow up to the disappointing 'Life is Peachy', has given fans what they wanted to hear. 'It's on!' is a classic korn opening. 'Got the Life', however, is new korn. The upbeat rhythm and disco drums give fans something new to enjoy, and encourages new fans with its 'poppy' tune and chorus.

Back when FNM released 'Easy' as a single it didn't appear on 'Angel Dust'. Rather than shell out £12 on a new copy I opted to shell out £10 on the import EP 'Songs To Make Love To', which was the original incarnation of this single.

'Easy' and 'Midnight Cowboy' appear in their 'Angel Dust' incarnations, and it is the other two tracks that stand out here. Das Schutzenfest answers a question that only Faith No More fans would ask - 'What would it sound like if my favourite band recorded an Oom-Pah song?' For the record, the answer is 'mad as a balloon, but dammit if it doesn't make me want to dress in lederhosen and bang steins with a guy with a big moustache'. Almost as mad and even better is the cover of the Dead Kennedy's (I think...) 'Lets Lynch ... Read More:

Schizophrenia

This was Sepultura's second full length album and in my opinion a pretty good one. It shows a level of musical maturity that the band just weren't capable of a year earlier with 'Morbid Visions' having dropped the cheesy satanic rubbish for more grown up and slightly more political lyrical themes. I think compared to their later works of Beneath the remains, Arise and Chaos AD this album feels a little bland but it sets the seen for 1989's masterpiece 'Beneath the Remains'. Another important thing about this album is the addition of Sepultura's now long time lead guitarist Andreas Kisser who brings another element to Sepultura's sound. If you are interested in this album and have heard some of it i would reccomend Arise or Beneath the remains over it.

Left Behind

Left Behind is a amazing song yet when compared to songs like People=S*** and The Heretic Anthem off the Iowa album I have found it to be a bit of a let down.If you have already heard the self titled album by Slipknot you will have realised that this sounds quite similar to the track Wait And Bleed.Even so it is still a good song and you will appreciate it more once you have read the lyrics to it.I urge you to buy this.

Angel Dust

Angel Dust is a great album. Period. Just received the remastered version. Doesnt sound that much different to the original. Probably worth it if you're a completist (which I am). Pretty hard for an untrained ear to hear the differences.
