311 were peddling rap-rock 6 years before rage against the machine released their seminal, first album; and, arguably, doing it better. I am a huge 311 fan, i own every one of their albums, but this is them at their best: raw, heavy (though not metal!), funk driven rap-rock. Ignore what the other reviewers spout about this album. It is great. There are elements of ska, and lazy chilled vibes, but first and foremost this album rocks with the best of them. In short, an upbeat, riff-laden, rhyme-strewn, beast of an album. Buy it, or remain unenlightened.

I have heard Roorback and Dante XXI, and had mixed views about those albums so was really in 2 minds with Nation. However to my pleasure i was happily suprised with the end result. It is recoignisable as a Sepultura album, but its a different kind of Sepultura album. From listening to the Max Cavalera albums and being taken on board the Sepultura plain with them i have got used to the deep angry growls of Max's vocals. With Derrick Green on vocals the whole atmosphere of the album seems to change. Yes the strong powerful riffs and melodies are present in great volume, but there also seems to be a slightly more relaxed and, dare i say, softer feell to the songs in general. Got the Life [CD 2]

I am a huge KoRn fan and I have ALL there albums and singles!!! 'Got the Life' is a groovy upbeat song off KoRn's best album. It has a brilliant tune and the lyrics are about how everything is handed to him and sometimes he doesn't like it. The second song 'I Can Remember' is a dark dingy affair with one of KoRn's darkest rifts. It is well worth buying the single just to hear this song. The 'Good God' remix is awesome the vocals are the same as on the album. The background has a bit of a dance influence but nothing can spoil 'Good God'. The CD is a rare collector's single. So for any KoRn fanatic - definitely buy this!!!

Mechanical Animals

This is easily marilyn mansons best album. The raucous antichrist superstar hinted at times towards the more glam/ melodic direction that manson would take on mechanical animals, but these melodies were all to sparse for my tastes. It is true that antichrist superstar is a good album with songs like beautiful people and 1999 the standout tracks, but on mechanical animals i think the music world really heard the evolution of an artist. Its like grown up heavy goth/glam rock.

all the good parts from antichrist remain, but the "filler" is gone replaced with simply excellent songs. The initial standouts on this album are, "rock is dead", "dope show", "Coma white", but after a few listens songs like the acoustic "speed of pain" the glam rock "new ... Read More:

Aerials [CD 1]

As a fairly new S.O.A.D. fan, i find this single has a more relaxed beat than most of their previous songs but it is still enjoyable. With its interesting lyrics and live versions of Toxicity and P.L.U.C.K this is a must have single for any true System of a Down fan.

The album is a monster, following the life of perhaps one of the most versatile (and volatile) bands we are ever likely to see and shows FNM's refusal to be placed into any single genre container. From the hoarse screamings of 'Digging The Grave' to a rendition of 'Easy' that even impressed Lionel Richie with its elegance, this album grabs you from the start and refuses to let you go until it's over.

Anyone with a few quid to spare and want to know what they were about should go for this one (and then buy all the rest).
