Well, what can I say. System are my favourite bands, so of course I'm biased, but with such a sterling album to choose from, why not release the title track 'Toxicity'. It is pure genius and has a great wall of riffage, plus a lot of very meaningful lyrics. Tracks 2 and 3 are live, taken from both Toxicity - 'X' and the self titled 'Suggestions'. If you are a fan of this band, it's worth a purchase, if only for the live tracks, and the superb Toxicity video. Brilliant.

Back when FNM released 'Easy' as a single it didn't appear on 'Angel Dust'. Rather than shell out £12 on a new copy I opted to shell out £10 on the import EP 'Songs To Make Love To', which was the original incarnation of this single.
'Easy' and 'Midnight Cowboy' appear in their 'Angel Dust' incarnations, and it is the other two tracks that stand out here. Das Schutzenfest answers a question that only Faith No More fans would ask - 'What would it sound like if my favourite band recorded an Oom-Pah song?' For the record, the answer is 'mad as a balloon, but dammit if it doesn't make me want to dress in lederhosen and bang steins with a guy with a big moustache'. Almost as mad and even better is the cover of the Dead Kennedy's ... Read More:

After what seems like a decade, the UK has finally found a sound to rival anything that has come from America in the last 10 years.
Cleverer than the frat-boy, dumbed-down nu-metal we are used to, Vex Red are the freshest breath of air to grace our soundwaves in a longtime.
Combining the angst of Placebo and the attitude of NIN, Vex Red surpase their peers by being able to write some of the most original songs I've heard in years. Having been lucky enough to hear the forthcoming album, I can honestly say there is not one filler on it.
Can't Smile is a great advertisment for what is surely going to be one of most respected albums of our modern time. Get this single now, if only for the rarer BBC session B-Sides. Read More:

I already had the Anthology and was really impressed by its power and rock sound, when i was able to get my hands on their second album i jumped at the chance.
the album opens well with the first 5 songs which i must admit carry on from where anthology left off but then the quality seems to drop and thepower just dissappears, there are no more metal chords and the lyrics fade a bit.
i was slightly dissapointed but this second album did have a very steep hill to climb and the DVD is worth a watch as it is filled with songs from the better first album.
This is a mediocre album with a half finished feel to it, the first five songs are woth a listen though and the DVD is ok.

I think a lot of people(myself included) have been waiting for a band like Vex Red for ages. Brooding and melodic with purely amazing vocals courtesy of Terry Abbott. They have single handedly restored my faith in british rock.Amazing both Live and recorded they are sure to be the next big name both here and stateside.

Now I'm not entirely sure why this album had been reissued, as the press release maanges to avoid the issue entirely, but there you go. Mind you, I never heard it the first time around, my knowledge of Godhead being limited to the near hit that was their industrail remake of "Eleanor Rigby". That, given my loathing of all things Beatle, was enough to get them filed in the 'don't bother' box.
But, here we are, three years on from its first release and it's back for another go. So, what do we have? Industrial beats, downtuned guitars, 'emotional' lyrics. Yup, they sound like Filter. However, as I can't be arsed doing any fact checking, I'll assume Godhead came first as a black clad passer by just ... Read More:

What happened to the Static-X we see on Machine? Where are they gone? They appear to have been replaced by a mediocre band fronted by Jonathan Davis.
Wayne has made his vocals sound so much like Jonathan Davis on some these tracks that it is impossible to tell the differance between the two. Granted, on tracks like "Destroy All" and "Monster" Static-X still have their fury and anger, and have Wayne singing, but for the rest of this pathetic offering, it all seems a bit too tame to be the band that we all know and love.
The DVD isn't much better either, with some "Live" performances (that is, footage of Static-X running around with the studio version of the song played over it) and a fairly crap intereiw.

Angel Dust is a great album. Period. Just received the remastered version. Doesnt sound that much different to the original. Probably worth it if you're a completist (which I am). Pretty hard for an untrained ear to hear the differences.
