How can i put what i feel about this CD into words?
i am absolutely spellbound!! i have never heard anything of the likes of this. by far the best CD i have ever bought, Rumi's poetry itself is beyond this world, but the music and instruments used in this CD are perfect to accompany such sweet words of Rumi's love for God.

Is this the best 2pac album ever? I think so. It got it all! Amazing lyrics, rythme and orginality. Listen to the lyrics. Is... I don't know what to say. Can I use the world amazing again? I hope so. Something thats real special is that 2pac wrote these poem when he was 18-19. If you take for instance In the event of my demise, he predict his furture. It just blows me away. Other tracks that's wondreful is : The rose that grew from concrete, God, Why must U be unfaithful and Pride in the Panther. All of track is acually the best. I've got all 2pac albums and I have to say that this is the best. By this album!!!!

Gil Scott-Heron is one of the great recording artists of the 20th century; it is a shame that he is relatively unknown. His work is always interesting and I would recommend (almost) all of his albums. Pieces of a Man is one of his best, if not the best, albums.

Gil Scott-Heron draws on a wide range of influences: the music of John Coltrane, the blues, the oral traditions of the American South and many others to create fantastic music in a variety of different styles from spoken word/rap to (almost) soul. He is perhaps best known for his searing political (and personal) lyrics that are often so good that they can be read as poetry. This album is the poetry of Stephen Jesse Bernstein put to music by Steve Fisk. Berstein took his won life before the album was completed and it was released posthumously. I feel it stands as a fitting testimony to his (little known) work. His delivery is similar to Burroughs' - but is a spoon less cough syrup and a couple mouthfuls more vinegar. If you check the audio samples you'll see what I mean. What makes it this album so special, however, is the production by Fisk. It's very hard to describe, but it fits the tone of Bernstein's voice perfectly - the nearest reference might be El-P's (ex-Company Flow) recent production, with a little more Throbbing Gristle thrown into the mix.
