I just cannot relate to most of the other reviews. "About Time" was very good - but this does not feature one memorable track. I am a big Stevie Fan - right back to the Spencer Davies Group - brilliant musician and singer. However the guy has never been a great song writer - now and then he has teamed up with someone who pushed him on a bit - e.g. Will Jennings but the stuff here is really second rate. May be I am being a little hasty - I'll hang on to the disc, and keep playing it who knows - might grow on me. If you want some recent Stevie and don't already have it - buy "About Time" would be my advice.

I have been a fan of Kylie's since the I should Be so Lucky days!! (I was a small child at the time!)
This album is brilliant. Good Sound all round. What can I say - Kylie's done it again!!! Buy it.
I would also recomed Fever, Impossible Princess (if you like Indie/rock - it shows that you can change your sound from a pop Princess!), Kylie Minogue (white cover) and Kylie (first)
One album of Kylie's I strongly DO-NOT recommend is Light Years. It sounded the same all the way through. If you like Spinning Around get it as a single instead, even if it cost's you more.

I think this album is amazing.
Every song is fantastic (which can't be said for many albums nowadays).
James Blunt has an amazing voice and has some very powerful songs.
Fantastic album and one I will no doubt be listening to for years to come.
I know it is a matter of preference, but I really suggest you at least try listening to some of Blunt's stuff- you'd really be missing out if you don't.

Hearing the Silver Jews have a new album out always leads to a short and dangerous drive to the nearest record shop for me. I can get from work to Avalanche records in Edinburgh in about 40 minutes if I push it: they close at 6...
I thought I had got passed this stuff now. Good God, my 'co-workers' give me funny looks as I try to tell them about David Berman's band - how funny and memorable his words are and how he puts them sleekly in such great tunes.
This is always going to be not so mainstream: unfair but true.
This one is pretty upbeat in comparison to the earlier records. David Berman is feeling better now. Whew!

I can only agree with the earlier reviewer, the pairing of Isobel Campbell and Mark Lanegan is a match made in heaven. Some unkindly dismiss Belle as the 'princess of twee' but not here, that's for certain. There's a strong sense of rhythm dominating much of the music, and wonderful arrangements; False Husband has a terrific Morricone 'spagetti western' sound, a lone guitar with reverb disappearing into some deep well, and then those sonorous tubular bells.
There's a good range of material, nearly all composed by Isobel, who also produces as well as singing and playing quite a variety of instruments. While the singing voice of the album is Lanegan's, it's definitely her project, and one that has real substance.

The five American Recordings comprise the most honest art I have found as a great man comes to terms with the human condition as his life builds to its close. If you add to them The Sound of Fury by Billy Fury you have the perfect bookends to the male life.

After his previous release 'In Between', which I thought was a complete and utter flop, PVD has redeamed himself and shows us why he is one of the best DJs in the world.
If you love trance, you will not be dissapointed! And for under a tenner....BARGAIN!

This latest TV advertised set has 20 tracks from the America's first soul group. All the original 50's well known songs are included, except for "You'll Never, Never Know (I Care)". Have they included "You'll Never Know", which is a different tune entirely, by mistake ? However, it's the oddities that make this compilation so intriguing. If you buy the album for Tony Williams smooth lead vocals, you will not be disappointed by the hits and versions of standards like "September In The Rain" and you might even be pleasantly surprised by rare tracks like "I Don't Know Why", presumably with Zola Taylor on lead. Is it a different male lead on "Temptation" and "You've Changed" ? Nevertheless, they are fine cuts. I would have preferred if the version of "Crying In The Chapel" had been ... Read More:
