Abba's best compilation so far if you're buying an abba album for the first time get this it's full of classics not one bad track on this cd this is a must buy! 10/10 now this is what i call music and not the mamma mia soundtrack!

Don't be put off if you're not sure after a first listen. As with all the best albums, 'Dreams of Breathing Underwater' requires repeated listenings. The sparky instrumentation summons up rackety piers, candyfloss, merry-go-round fun-filled holidays in the rain... Carthy makes full use of rich vocal harmonies, weird percussion, unexpected rhythmic changes, as on 'Two Tears', all floating around her magical voice. There are some wonderful, barbed narrative songs, such as 'Mr Magnifico'. On 'Dreams of Breathing Underwater' Carthy's combination of wit and melancholy reigns supreme. The songs on this CD are quirky energetic and upbeat. I don't know why so many people are saying they are "boybandy" or been done because I think they are very unique and the only thing I would have to say is most of the songs are singing about girls...but most songs do anyway. Overall a good CD

This is not the original album. Three of the best tracks have been removed (Into the Jungle, Ocean Blue and The Hours) and replaced with sloppy generic synth-pop dribble (Gogo, Public Image and Touch me touching you). Get your hands on the original. Its much better than this one.

Featuring collaborations from Kanye West, Will.i.am, Cee-Lo & John Legend, the album had all the ingredients to be a major success. A very summer feeling on the record, and a 2008 must buy!!

Yes, of course, most album reviews on Amazon are positive, and much of the rest are from people crying 'sell out'.

Well, for what 42 years on the planet and a first ever Amazon review are worth, this is one of those very very rare albums that takes music to a new level, that even on first listening you know will live on, not necessarily defining an era, but being forever known and rediscovered. It's that good.

With the possible exception of 'Caravan Girls', nothing on this album is weak or forced - it experiments, disturbs and delights whilst at all times demonstrating an utter mastery of the craft of beautiful song writing. Never really knew much about Amy until I saw her on Glastonbury 2008 and boy I was hooked. She's not just some spaced out horrid junkie kid. She is a crazy, mixed up kid who lacks guidance and is flat out on the road to perdition and someone should stand up and help the poor kid. Get rid of the losers & goldiggers in her life.

This album has real soul. The voice is one in a billion and her rendition of some old classics on CD2 is priceless. Grab it while you can and long may she reign. She hit me like Elvis, Billie Halliday, Nina Simone she is a real mix of pure class and thank god we can bottle her voice and sell it these days.

The Essential Leonard Cohen

The voice is the first thing you notice. The early poetic renditions on such classics as "Suzanne", "Sisters of Mercy" and "Famous Blue Raincoat" are presented in a voice that is deadpan but not as gruff as in later years. This was at a period when he was a well kept secret and with a style and presentation that not everyone took to. Move onto disc 2 and you notice how the voice deepens and the songs become bigger. One thing that Cohen has never failed to deliver is quality songs with curious stories to tell. He has an almost hymn-like or gospel touch on a lot of his work, usually enhanced by superb backing singers and wondrous musicians and arrangements.

I don't really think, that we need this re-release version of the album, that is not actual anymore!
Up to my mind, everyone Rihanna fan would like to see her new material, something original, not this old tracks and just 3 new songs that isn't brilliant! The best track on this commercial album is "Take A Bow". Buy a single, not this commercial release.
