Hello

Simply Red changed after the Stars album, not rapidly but they did change. Life is an album with so many different music genres, bit of R+B bit of Soul bit of Pop Bit Of Rock, And alot of Good Reggae.

You CANNOT class Simply Red into a genre its impossible, you cannot label them one genre.

Right back to Life, Life had to be a good album to follow Stars and it was. Pure class.

My favourite song is Hillside Avenue you can’t deny how good that song is. Simply Red only has one number 1 in this country. Just goes to show you, how rubbish the music industry is at this time.

This CD is a collection of classic love songs recorded by Wonder....some of which have been written himself, with a few tracks from other artistes thrown in for good measure, from the haunting self-written Never Dreamed You'd Leave In Summer, to the brilliant cover version of We Can Work It Out, the only version I actually think is better than the Beatles'!!! The harmonica solo of the title track from the film Alfie is also awesome & the whole CD shows off Wonder's musical, vocal & songwriting talents to their very best advantage. A must in your collection if you're an ardent Stevie Wonder fan!!

As one that has long admired the grittiness of O'Neal, I looked forward to his first live album. A singer that had a slew of hits in the late eighties through early nineties, O'Neal disappeared from the American music scene but has had considerable success in his adopted England, where this album was recorded.

Though his voice shows signs of having aged, O'Neal still effectively expresses his skills as a vocalist as he runs through several of the familiar songs of which he had chart success. The band that accompanies the singer is first-rate, backing him up with some truly funky and distinctive arrangements of the songs, most penned by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis.

The first album featured here, MPG, was released in 1969 and the second, That's the way love is, was released in 1970.

The collection opens with Too busy thinking about my baby, a top five hit for Marvin in Britain and America. The follow-up single, That's the way love is, was atop ten American hit but missed the chart completely in Britain. How can I forget you became a minor American hit, but in Britain it was put on the B-side of Abraham Martin and John (my favorite Marvin Gaye song). The tribute to Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King and John F Kennedy gave Marvin a top ten UK hit, but it was Smokey Robinson and the Miracles who had the American hit with that song.
