The journalist Craig Seymour (in his bio on Luther) didn't rate this album, so I bought it with some trepidation.

Well, I don't think Craig coud have been more wrong. Some of Luther's vocals on these tracks are amongst his BEST ever performances. As ever, he sounds incredible, but with a Gospel intensity on the ballads; at times he's truly singing the chandelier right off the ceiling !!

It must have been electrifying in the studio. And his jazz-funk take on My Favourite Things is worth the price of admission alone... All the usual crew are there (Cissy, Cindy, Brenda, Lisa, Kevin, Marcus, Nat et al).

Rise

Well, Gabrielle has done it again! She provided us with the album 'Find your way', with the likes of 'Dreams' (brilliant song), but this album has out won them all! My favourite song, has to be 'Out of Reach', which is currently out at this present time which is also on the recent album 'Rise'. This album works because Gabrielle has included soulful tunes, which some are upbeat (e.g. 'when a woman') or just one's that you can relax to. So, you can listen to the album whatever mood your in! I hope the day will never come when Gabrielle stops making music, because the day she does music wouldn't be music without Gabrielle. So, keep on rolling out those tunes!

This collection of remixes by Jennifer Lopez has one or two outstanding tracks on it but overall most of the tracks are not as good as the originals.I liked the remix of Let's Get Loud which I hadn't heard before.
If you haven't listened to Lopez before then I would recommend her cd On The Six which has more mainstream songs on it including the number 1 billboard hit Waiting For Tonight.Also some very strong language on J that Lo.

Just when it seemed like Janet's musical career was never going to take off, out popped `Control' a crucial success, as well as signalling Janet's new found independence. Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis were recruited to produce this album, and blimey did they do a good job.

The title track `Control' is upbeat, as well as lyrically explaining to us all that she is now free from all restraints, and by the sounds of it she loving every second, this is even more evident when you listen to `Nasty' it's a rebellious song with plenty of sexual references thrown in, then there's one of my personal favourites `When I Think Of You', not quite as upbeat, certainly not as explicit as some of the material on here, i can understand why this bouncy ... God, this girls good! I wanted this album since hearing the addictive Case of the Ex and had high expectations of it. Excellent is an understatement. I can truly say all 18 tracks are amazing, with great partnerships between Mya and various well known Swing/Hip-hop artists. Taking me Over with Left-Eye is a cute, catchy, happy go lucky tune as is Now or Never. The album layout is brilliant, it kicks off with girl power tunes with phat beats, then goes into bouncy, feel-good tunes and the last part of the album is packed with beautiful ballads. Mya has a wonderful, soft voice and her talents are really shown off on this album. I would highly recommend this album to any true R&B fan, if you liked talents such as Mona Lisa and Brandy this album is for you.

What can I say?
If you're reading this review, chances are you will already have heard this new song from Usher ft. Lil' Jon & Ludacris!! This song brings Usher screaming into the new year with a tune that is both catchy and will definately get you out on the dance floor!! It has a great beat, very catchy chorus, some clever lyrics and good supporting vocals from the likes of Ludacris & Lil' Jon, both of whom you shall be hearing alot more from in the coming months (with Lil' Jon releasing his first single on these shores, from the hit Playstation 2 game Need for Speed:Underground). This is a great listen and a must have track from a great artist that keeps coming back for more.

Can someone tell me why this single's had such bad reviews? It must be one of Mariah's best hits! Ok, so the song borrowed bits of the classic song "Candy" by the legendary Cameo- that's why its so good!
The remix sounds a bit confusing, but hey- it's cool!
