With hours to spare, staring at the ceilng, this album would probably have impressed me a little more. However I don't have that luxury.
E luxo so is like the anti boards of Canada, whilst being entirely instumental it appears to have no focus.
The album does litte to hold my concentration and in places reminds me of the more quirky Icelandic band "Mum".
I won't be purchasing any more labradford albums, but I won't be throwing this is in the bin either. Maybe one evening, when everyone and eveything is else where, I'll find time stare at the ceiling and loose my self. Chances are though I'll only see the dust on the light fittings.

Futureworld is Trans Am at their best. Like a soundtrack to "Tron", this is what 1980s music fans might have expected in 1999. It's a shame there aren't more bands making this type of music today. OK, so it's a concept album, but don't let that put you off. This is a classic that stands the test of time, whether you look at from the perspective of today or 1980.

Some pretty profound post-rock from Thrill Jockey's own Tortoise which features some of the most beautiful and poignant art in recent memory. The front cover is an awe inspiring sunset dying over a cascading waterfall and rapids yet overlooking this scene is a yellow helicopter perched next to a luminescent city while the back features a blurred rainforest beneath an overcast sky but blocking most of the sky is a huge projection screen with a better looking skyline beaming out of it. While the liner notes tell a story of life dissatisfaction and miscertainty in the 21st century and the songs are rawly titled, the Tortoise movement isn't exactly taking the route their name would suggest. Instead of going slow and steady, they're heading straight ... Read More:

Mirror takes Flying Saucer Attack one step further into the future - more than one song sees the introduction of dub bass and electronic percussion. However, the new focus does not overshadow what FSA have stood for over the past years with Dave Pearce's hushed vocals and melodic folk guitar perfectly complementing the the new-direction songs. Overall, another great FSA album, and another step towards the truly sensational album that FSA will eventually deliver.
