Ok, like most people I loved "It wasn't me" so when I went on a school trip I had some spending money and picked up this album to listen to on the coach home, It was brilliant and catchy listened to it for a few week and put it away. I recently rediscovered this and I have to say it is the best album I have ever heard, its got the up beat songs and the slower songs. But best of all it is the CD for players! If you are about to go out on a date and your nervous put this CD on it will make you feel invinsible. I cannot reccomend it enough! Buy it now!

I agree with the other reviews this is a fine album. In fact it must be one of the best live reggae albums available.Comparable to the great Misty In Roots- Live at Countervision album.
It may be a bit raw in its sound but this just adds to capturing the marvellous carnival atmosphere. This marks a happy time when roots rockers ruled reggae before its sad decline into ragga /drum'n'bass and (a little sadly)Aswad hit the charts with some soft reggae pop tunes that didn't really represent the sound they perfected after many years slogging on the road in the late seventies/early eighties.Bands simply do not get this good without doing the rounds live for many years!Aswad deserved there success so I would not dis them for 'selling out' as some ... I bought this album a couple of months ago after hearing "When the Night Feels my Song" from a well-known mobile phone ad... and I love it! There isn't a bad track on the album. It's great for driving, and just chillin' out to!
Other reviews mention artists like Dispatch, Jack Johnson, Sublime and I honestly haven't heard of any of these (tho I may check them out now!). Being a bit of a Bob Marley fan I like the soft reggae sound / mix pop / mix blues. It really works.
If you've heard and like the single "When the Night feels my Song", then I can recommend the rest... try it!

As with all music its a very strong matter of personal taste, if you like massive attack you won't neccesarily enjoy this. I love it, but it took me a year before I actually enjoyed it and now is one of my most played album. Great for zoning out and getting lost...

right then this album rocks!!!!
in every sense of the word!!! the music is a bizarre mixture of metal and reggae, with a little punk thrown in here and there.
the reason it all works is this simple....the tunes are top quality. very groovy metal with more funk than you could banga a head at.
and then the real ace of the pack is the singer benji who is quite frankyl scary. the guy can hit notes....perfectly and beautifully and he can do the speedy ragga spitting and then just to scare the life out of you he has a scream that can knock down a wall from 50 yards.
put simply there really is no one else out there who is making music this unique or this well and the best bit is that the whole thing just feels so positive its hard ... Read More:

If ever there was a dub album produced that offered a radical new vision to a dying genre, without a shadow of a doubt, this was it. Recorded over 25 years ago, A New Chapter in Dub more than stands the tests of time; sublime production and a remarkable collage of sounds highlight the true dexterity of Aswad's song-writing talents and arrangements.
In Dub Fire, A New Chapter kicks of with an imperious statement of intent, opening with a short snatch of electronic sounds, followed by an unforgetable horn riff and an instantly memorable and distinctive bass-line. The album then embarks on a remarkably evocative and varied selection of songs and soundscapes, each composition characterised by astonishing snatches of echo unexpectedly jumping ... Read More:

Prior to Greensleeves acquiring the rights, none of Dr Alimantado's 45s had been released outside Jamaica, and he remained very much an obsxcure cult figure until Johnny Rotten named his "Born for a Purpose" as a great comfort to him after being attacked in the street.
Following this, it sadly became de rigueur for followers of punk, who usually knew next to nothing about reggae, to profess undying admiration for "the Doctor". Despite that cavil, this album does contain some of his finest recordings; the title track versions his own "Oil Crisis" (the voice chanting "help us" is his own), on Horace Andy's "Ain't No Sunshine" riddim, while "Poison Flour" rides a mid-seventies recut of the Partagons "Man Next Door", and "Gimme Mi Gun" is a toast ... This CD is worth buying for Bush Doctor alone. A brilliant fast blues/jazz-type piano played over a pumping bass rhythm and driving reggae rhythm. This is an instrumental of Peter Tosh' record of the same name - but that's what the Music Doctors did par excellence. It was also used as the backing track for Madness' Don't Quote Me On That. Warefare is also brilliant. I have both in vinyl and was really pleased to find them on CD. Reggae in your jeggae a lot with this one...
