Prior to Greensleeves acquiring the rights, none of Dr Alimantado's 45s had been released outside Jamaica, and he remained very much an obsxcure cult figure until Johnny Rotten named his "Born for a Purpose" as a great comfort to him after being attacked in the street.
Following this, it sadly became de rigueur for followers of punk, who usually knew next to nothing about reggae, to profess undying admiration for "the Doctor". Despite that cavil, this album does contain some of his finest recordings; the title track versions his own "Oil Crisis" (the voice chanting "help us" is his own), on Horace Andy's "Ain't No Sunshine" riddim, while "Poison Flour" rides a mid-seventies recut of the Partagons "Man Next Door", and "Gimme Mi Gun" ... Uncomfortably wearing the tag of 'scene veterans', In With The Out Crowd finds Less Than Jake attempting to bridge the raucous ska of old with the hearts-on-sleeves yearning favoured by a MySpace generation. The trademark humour and vibrant horn section has been completely stripped away, leaving a wafer thin pop-punk core. This stuff can be done well - and indeed has been on earlier albums - but, even when judged as a pop album, In With The Out Crowd sounds uninspired.
Coming across like set of B Sides rather than anything resembling coherency, the album leaps between bizarre stylistic diversions ("Mostly Memories"), disturbing 80's homages (the Police-esque "Hopeless Case") and bland pop rock (read: every other song). Oh, and then there's ... Read More:

As usual Rihanna brings it on top notch, with club sounds definitely smashing, sensational, and filled with infectious grooves sure to satisfy many danceaholics & more! This is from Rihanna's album titled, Good Girl Gone Bad and features a club mix that's on fire, hot! The album was geared to a more dance type theme taking a look into her personal growth as well. While many enjoyed her past R&B this will give an added enjoyment for the up-tempo fast paced music! If an artist stays exactly the same then that's not growth. Rihanna has shown that she can try different things and succeed in flying colors!
DON'T STOP THE MUSIC ALBUM VERSION [4:27] is definitely one of the catchiest songs off her album produced with a very positive aura, dance ... Read More:

I know the other reviews dont really say this album is too good but hey its all personal taste and I personally prefer this to the other albums. Best songs for me are I Know, Ska Con Queso and King Dub Rock.
If you've heard dreadzone live then I dont think any of the albums do them justice but this one is closest for me.

This is a really fantastic record, lots of pacy frenetic guitar work & some quality tunes throughout. It lacks the production of "Out Come The Wolves" & seems to have less of a ska influence than "Life Won't Wait". The predecessor to "Let's Go" its a cracking high octane punk album.
I would suggest that this is a difficult album NOT to like & if you are a Rancid fan it's a must buy.Quality record from a quality band.

I was inspired to buy this after seeing their great performance on Jools Holland's show and i wasn't dissapointed. The title track is a charming slice of retro styled ska-pop opening with a nice little piano hook. The Full Length Version has a long, extended outro. B-side Bittersweet works equally well. The only let down is the Man Like Me remix - it's not a dance version at all but just a weird reworking full of random noises, i wasn't that keen on it.
Special mention must also go to the packaging - i was well surprised when i bought the CD thinking it'd come in just a standard jewel-case but instead it comes in this fake vinyl packaging - it's a cool little touch and i like it!
