In the sleeve notes to this self-deprecatingly titled anthology Jah Wobble notes that after a quarter of a century on the periphery of pop, "it was really about time that there was some sort of official Anthology of my work". He is spot-on. His career is so diffuse - this collection manages to bring some order to that chaos. That disarray is the consequence of his wilful experimentalism: he travels across a variety of musical forms, including: punk, folk, dub, ambient and jazz. This defiantly is an album to get your lover in the mood, slower than Ska, more filled in then Dub, should put a smile on anyone's face after they have bought it and played it for the first time

If I were stuck on a desert island with only one cd, this would be it!

I cant describe music too well but if I told you that other favorites in my colllection were: Pink Flyod, Eat Static, Nightmares on Wax, Massive Attack and Portishead, then perhaps you can imagine what flavour it might be.

I have played this album over and over and over, and i'm still not tired of it.

Dont discount Sound or Second Light either. They are quite different to each other but still awsome in their own right!

Big up to Mark at Cob records for the e-mail confirmation and speedy service! 10 out of 10 mate!

This is a Brilliant CD as all Beres's hits are here and more. There are two CD's and I would recommed it to amyone and if you are a Beres Hammond fan like I am you will love it, it's worth every penny.

The "Hurts So Good" is produced by the Legendary 'Scratch' Perry, and still rocks. Ken Boothe's 'Tide Is High' shows the male point of view of Atomic Kitten's single, and the Parogans still sound like they could rock it out with the best of 'em!!!

Bob Marley died long before I was born, but thanks to my parents I was introduced to his music. As a young woman he has inspired, captivated and uplifted me. Burnin' is just ANOTHER one of his many masterpieces along with the Wailers. As I write this I am rocking to another of his tunes Sun Is Shining...He is simply amazing! His talents are clearly limitless...But look, as you can probably tell, I can go on about his music all day, but the main thing is that you should add Burnin' to YOUR music collection. Legalize It

I am not primarily a reggae fan, so I can't really talk about the development of the musical style, or where an album like this stands in reggae history.
However, I can say that it has a fantastic feel to it. The album, as the title suggests, raises issues to do with the legalisation of Gange. But despite its strong political overtones, it remains a fun and easy album to listen to.
The opening track has a wonderful synth part in the background, that only reggae records ever seem to possess. No hint of electronics, but a natural feel. I could go on and pick the best tracks, but I think I'd probably ending up saying them all, with the possible exception of the 3rd, as it has a cheesy synth part that seems out of place.

'Til Shiloh

This album can easily satisfy any reggae lover and unexpectedly grab hold onto non-reggae listeners into its clutches. Buju is masterful on the mic with his rough sounding style and the production is perfect. It's one of the Best reggae album I own that is constantly on rotation when I'm in the mood for this genre. Buju open the album with the brief a cappella psalm, "Shiloh," which is inspirational and extraordinary to hear. On the next two tracks he explodes with sound and feeling with first "Til I'm Laid to Rest," a melody that is intertwines with an homage to Africa and his faith in the Promised Land.
