Truly outstanding debut album from Black Stone Cherry, the most exciting band in rock at the moment. I've had the privilege of seeing them live a couple of times and they are the real deal! This album is grade a - from start to finish there really isn't a bad song, every one is top class. The energy is relentless and the playing exquisite, the South have a history of producing incredible music and these boys from Kentucky are the latest edition to that impeccable list. 'Rain Wizard' maybe the best album (and set) opener ever... but to pick it out as the highlight would overshadow the other 12 tracks! "Hey hey, My my, Rock 'N' Roll will never die"... It's been a long while since Ol' Neil sang those immortal words, but while bands like BSC (and ... Read More:

For anyone who has never heard this album before and is looking for something that will leave them spellbound and completely exhausted of all emotions, I really envy you. For you, unlike the millions who already own this, still have the joy of listening to something that is really unique, for the very first time. Rarely can a combination of songs, performer and audience have come together so comprehensively as one, in such an emotionally charged package. From classic love songs to fever pitched gospel, Diamond takes you on a rollercoaster of moods . The energy and sensitivity of his performance has never been equalled. You can't fake an audience response, the like of which I have never heard before or since after his stunning rendition of Holly Holy. Something ... Read More:

This is my favourite Foo Fighters album, I have owned it for years and still play it regularly. If you are just getting into the Foos then I would buy this first. It sounds a lot crisper and finished then the first album and you can just let play the whole way through as it flows really well. It also has Dave Grohl drumming on nearly all of it.
Although I like some of the later Foo Fighters singles there hasn't been an album that has matched this. It has the well known classic singles such as 'Everlong' and 'Monkey Wrench' but also memorable album tracks such as 'Hey, Johnny Park!' and 'Up In Arms'.

There were so many songs that I had never heard before. I thought I was going to know them all so it was very disappointing. I wonder how many were actually "hits"?
Release Date November 12, 2007
I'm not particularly a Stones fan, but this is a suberb collection...... just about the whole album is quality, a must for any music lover.

When Bon Scott died,he left a hard job to fill his shoes. Brian Johnson was that man. Scott had admired Johnson from the band Geordie, and had told the band.
After Scott had died the Young brothers decided to carry on writing and playing music, and put together a masterpiece.
The cd is full of classics guitar licks, but the two outstanding tracks are the title track and Hells Bells. This cd is in my top five.
And good news a new cd is on its way and perhaps a world tour...

A friend of mine called 'Mike the Bike' put me on to 'Rumours' an age ago. As his name suggests, Mike was a wretched 'macho' biker, (a contradiction to start with - a man who wears leather and goes out to meet...other men!) who used to shoot razorbacks when he lived in Australia. That sounds impressive, til' you consider your average razorback is about the size of a cairn terrier, but Mike apparently loved every blood-spilling minute of it.
Anyway, in normal life I'd rather sleep with a razorback than take a musical recommendation from Mike. He's firmly in the 'metal' enclave, he and his road-tearing associates live in a jelly outside time and listen to Queens of the Stone Age and Kings of Leon when they're not burning rubber on the (real) Queens highways and byways.

Very derivative of 80's pop (duran duran, cure, smiths, etc). Little originality but sometimes that's not a bad thing. Lack the musicality and serious musicianship of, say, a Muse. In ten years time no one will remember them, but this album is ok when you are feeling a bit nostalgic for your youth (if you're 30 or 40)and dont necessarily want to pull out the more embarressing oldies from your collection.
