This Album has become the benchmark for third wave Ska. Some people complain it to be a profiteering effort but for those who think that, wouldn't you rather give the band money then the record company? The reason Streetlight re-made this classic Catch 22 album (3 members of streetlight come from catch 22) was because the original was to be re-released by Victory with "bonus content", usually comprising of a live track and random interviews. (Oh Hurray!)
Tomas and the group decided it would be better, both for the fans of the album and fans of streetlight to take the original and give it a lick of new paint. In my opinion this album is far superior to it's original counterpart. The mixing has been correctly followed through leaving all ... Read More:

Coming hot on the heels of Soul Jazz's well conceived "Studio One Rude Boy" compilation comes this truly outstanding CD which is in my opinion sits within the top three of the Studio One albums issued by Soul Jazz since 2001 (the other two? "S.1.Roots" & "S.1.Scorcher"). This is particularly satisfying after an impression of the law of diminishing returns with some of Soul Jazz's efforts over the last few years where 2 to 4 great tracks were interspersed with an awful lot of filler (prime culprits: "S.1.Funk", "S.1.Disco Mix" & "S.1.Scorcher Vol.2" all of which came up short). This one though is definitely all killer and no filler with about 8 or 9 all time classics and the rest are uniformly excellent. Of particular note is the first CD release ... Read More:

This is one of the best albums from the Bosstones, and one of the best of the 90's. All the songs have a hard edge, but are made smooth by the horns. Dicky Barretts voice is like no other.
I think this an all time classic for my generation.

I made a beeline to see Duke at Guilfest 2007 having seen him on Jools Holland. They were fantastic live, and Chip on percussion with Duke was a great show. I still cannot believe they have not broken through to a bigger audience. This album is superb. If I was to compare to another I would suggest hints of early Billy Joel, but with an Ulster twang...

This is their best release as far as i'm concerned. Only slightly better than 'Hello Rockview'.
Notable songs worth making a big fuss over in particular are:
'Kehoe': Best LTJ song in my opinion. Noone agrees, but it's so catchy.
'Suburban Myth': Just brilliant..
'Gainesville Rock City': Monumental. Short and sweet.
'Malt Liquor...': Another classic.
'Bad Scene and a Basement Show': Are you getting the picture?
'1989': LTJ's second greatest song for me. And it's the year I was born.
'Last Hour of the Last Day of Work': Always sounds so familiar, but it's their song, and it's a blinder.
The tracks that weren't mentioned, they're all great too, hence the five stars.

This is the first RBF album I ever heard, and I definately prefer it to 'We're not happy till you're not happy'
A good buy, quite upbeat musically, with depressing but sarcastic lyrics which are thoroughly enjoyable. I like pretty much every song on this album, there are very few weak tracks.
