by: Paul Shanklin

Release Date
This is easily Paul Shanklin's greatest, funniest CD. While material was never in short supply for Shanklin's acerbic political wit, the Monica Lewinsky scandal fanned the flames of political humor into an inferno of hilarity for this master parodist. Heck, these songs almost wrote themselves. This album includes 15 songs, the majority of them classics in every sense of the word. Bill Clinton wishes they could all be "White House Intern Girls" ("California Girls") and muses about the times "I Saw Her Derriere" ("I Saw Her Standing There"). Al Gore sings about his Buddhist monk campaign in "Friends in Asian Places" ("Friends in Low Places") and thanks Janet Reno for keeping him out of trouble with the song "Janet Angel" ("Johnny Angel"). ... The Chipmunks Sing the Beatles Hits [CASSETTE]

CD-Charts > Music > Song Parody
by: The Chipmunks

Release Date July 01, 1991
I know that the first record I ever owned when I got my first record player was "The Beatles Second Album" (an American album whose songs are scattered on three of the "British" CDs currently available). Somewhere between that album and "Abbey Road" I picked up "The Chipmunks Sing the Beatles Hits." Do not ask me to explain it, but for some reason the way the Chipmunks sing works really well for early Beatles songs when the Fab Four was into vocal harmonies big time. Of course my original record album was long gone by the time I found out this album was reissued on CD, so I picked it up immediately.

I still listen to this album as much as I listen to "With the Beatles," "A Hard Day's Night," or any other Beatles album, early or otherwise. ... Read More:
