One of the best albums of all time, you must hear this album, BEFORE YOU DIE!
Release Date February 26, 2007
More of the same from John Legend. Some stand out tracks such as p.d.a have to balance out some rather typical "samey" R&B standards.
Not bad.

Before Whitney Houston, before affected "R'n'B" singers of contemporary chart fame, there was Gladys Knight, and she sure could sing. As the previous reviewer has pointed out, hers was a sweet, yet ballsy, rootsy soul. Check out cuts such as "Make Yours A Happy Home"; "Come Back And Finish What You Started" and "Bourgie Bourgie" for proof. Of course, the album's highlight is the iconic "Midnight Train To Georgia" with its wonderful horn intro, bass line, keyboards and Gladys' memorable fade-out vocal. There is also the sublime "Help Me Make It Through The Night", "The Way We Were" and my own personal favourite ballad of hers, "So Sad The Song". Add to that the James Bond theme "License To Kill" and you have a great compliation from one of the greatest soul voices of all ... Read More:

I didn't buy this album because it would have been pointless, i already own all of the songs from buying the last greatest hits album. Of course there's no denying that the vocals are astounding, but this wouldn't change no matter how many collections she brought out. I believe this album is the best choice for anyone who is just getting introduced to Whitney Houston, as it only contains the main songs that she's known for full stop, there are certainly no fillers or remixes it's just the very best of Whitney, but for fans such as me, who've followed her though each album from beginning to end are yearning for some new material, and are getting very board with collection after collection.

This greatest hits collection by Stevie Wonder, was one i purchased in my local Woolworths in Kirkcaldy, a couple of years ago.
However, do be wary if you decide to buy this. Many songs by Stevie Wonder may be acknowledged: "Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I'm yours"; "You're the sunshine of my life", "He's misstra know-it-all", but as far as i'm concerned, this collection is devoid of something. This includes: virtually no trace of his work on "Fulfillingless' First Finale, all of which are sadly absent; a lot of songs including the likes of: "I ain't gonna stand for it", "He hasn't done nothin'", "Superwoman", "All in life is fair" and "Love's in need in love today" are not here, but should be; probably the worst trasverty of them all are "Isn't she lovely" and "Living ... As a new convert to NS I was intrigued as to what I would find on here.
I was pleasantly surprised at the content and there are a few tracks that have already become real favourites.
For me the standout track has to be the hair-raising Al Kent:The way you've been acting. Whilst this is a brilliant track unfortunately it does suffer from being a copy from a record and there is some distortion on the left channel and some of the other tracks are similarly from records and not the original master tape. Still I would rather have them that way than not at all.
All in all a bargain at £3.39 at a large supermarket chain at time of writing.
Release Date January 27, 1998
If you're reading this review and thinking about buying this album stop reading this review and get your charge card out. This is, bar none, the best compilation album I've ever come across. I'm shamed to admit I was unfamiliar with many of the tracks and artists until I saw the film. In hindsight I now understand the magnitude of the gaping whole this was in the development of my muscial appreciation. A vista of 70's soul-funk really opened up for me post-Jackie-Brown.

Cracking album, better even than the last studio album! Alicias vocals never fail to stir the emotions and even though she doesnt always hit the top spot in this country, that's no reason to give her the wide shoulder.
Superb, quality vocals saturate every track and are full of emotion rather than being just technically perfect.
Standout tracks for me include the unbelievably fantastic Superwoman, the punchiness of No One and the old school soul of Where Do We Go From Here.
I suspect Alicia will be around for a good while yet!
