Anyone who LOVES this movie will love this improved soundtrack, with the tracks in the order they are played in the film. Every song will have you reminiscing the exact scene it's from.... from the opening Be my Baby with the slow-mo dancing to the ultimate goosebump moment of "The Lift" during I've Had the Time (extended version in this CD).
Release Date August 16, 2004
What's the first thing thing that comes to your mind when you hear the album title? Da Da Da Duu. DAH DAH DAH... The haunting theme tune is now a popular ringtone..shows the lasting value in a time of ever changing tastes and technology. The rest of the album stands out especially Story of A Soldier.

I've seen the movie twice. I enjoyed the music too. Most of the themes are known and popular and I was decided to buy it for just 2 reasons: Gabriel Yared's delicious score (the music while Richard is looking at Jennifer looking at the window in Miss Mitzi's school)and the tango they dance togheter. I hate when moviemakers discard a score to sell songs.

I bought this because of the over the top gore and that is exactly what I got. We're talking: severed limbs and stumps geysering blood like a fireman's hose, spurting finger stumps, jetting necks, amputations and slashings of all kinds.
We're also talking over the top characters: who shrug off nails in the head and amputations and can take more hits than Godzilla before keeling over, who cackle as they maim, mutilate and murder innocents for the slightest excuse (or none at all but because they -the yakuza boss, his wife, and son -happen to be gleeful sadists).
And then it gets really silly. Three red-clad ninjas announce, halfway through a fight with our two heroines, that they are The Junior High School Ninja Squad. ... Read More:

Release Date July 12, 2004
The `Classic FM Music For' series of CDs, released during 2004 to 2005, aims to provide classical music to suit a variety of moods and occasions, including music for Babies, Bath time, Christmas, Dinner Parties, Driving, Fitness, Romance, Mums, Studying and Weddings.
This collection of well chosen short pieces, intended to be played while driving, is more of a cross section of classical music's most popular hits (they will be familiar to most non-classical fans) than a good listening accompaniment for driving - musical taste will surely dictate the most suitable music for that.
Some of the albums in the series are appropriate for the occasion, but this one is simply a very good selection of classical music suitable ... Read More:

But this one is I have! The words leap out - and I mean that because normally I only listen to melodies in any song, very rarely the words, but Aime Mann's lyrics can't be ignored and they are intelligent as well as moving. The melodies are equally edgy and the sound production's excellent.
Release Date November 27, 1995
The movie "The Rose" tells the story of a rock star's descent into the crazy, chaotic, self-destructive world of drug addiction along with her rise to fame. The soundtrack mirrors that but, for me, it does too good a job. The music starts off harsh and overpowering, but with glimmers of quality and meaning. As the soundtrack progresses, the music descends into chaotic harshness and loses its quality and meaning. And then, just as you want to turn it off and throw it away, because it's so painful, there is the song "The Rose". It mirrors the singer's sudden enlightenment and is truly enlightening and inspiring. I am a clinical psychologist who works with children and teenagers and, with the children 12 and up, I sometimes use these lyrics as a basis ... Read More:

I bought this album after a search as basically I could not get the theme music out of my head after 40 plus years.
The haunting themes remain one of the great TV programme soundtracks. They were never obtrusive but added to the atmosphere to a stupendous series.
Much recommended to all 40 somethings and makes this reviewer wish for the simpler life and entertainment we had in those halcyon days of the 60's and 70's
Release Date May 15, 2006
No, no, no. This is not the best film music ever composed. It is all the same - even the terrifying movement that was cut barely makes anything tingle. Yes, it has to experienced with the film, but this is where this soundtrack falls down.
This soundtrack does not stand on its own: if it is supposed to, it falls into that awful Classic FM genre of baroque-style easy listening, which surely must become a graveyard eventually.
