I always considered Vangelis' work for the "Blade Runner" soundtrack to be one of the most accomplished, and definitive pieces he ever did for the universe of film. The music featured here is so evocative, its impact is so profound that it makes my mind travel through the most beautiful visions and landscapes. I would dare using Rutger Hauer's Batty final speech here: "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe! Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion... The World's Greatest Mozart Album

Putting a title like `Worlds Greatest' on the front of a CD is obviously a bold claim, and one which many people have become so familiar with that they tend to take it with a pinch of salt. There are so many ways of trying to catch the buyers interest that very few titles like these really jump out at the buyer.

This one did jump out at me, though not so much for the choice of tracks, more for the quality of artists who perform them. Considering this is only a 2CD set, far too short for any Mozart compilation, the list of performers reads like a roll call for the best `Last Night of the Proms' ever staged.

This is a truly splendid record. In addition to the well known show stoppers there are some great songs here.

It's worth getting this particular recording for Gloria Grahame's rendition of "I Cain't Say No". Brooklyn meets the Prairies!
