However when one counts up his songs he left us with a golden legacy. Included here are In the midnight hour, land of 1000 dances. Mustang Sally, 634-5789 and his rendition of The Beatles classic Hey Jude which was a surprise top 20 hit in 1969. Also on this set is the beautiful I`m in love. If you are into soul music this is a top c.d. to own.

If you really want to know the meaning of Soul then listen to this album by Otis. This album shows how his rapidly developing talent had matured into excellent writing on his own songs such as "Ole Man Trouble", "Respect" and his biggest hit "I've Been Loving You Too Long".

Even the usual covers you get on most albums are delivered by Otis with that feeling of Soul which enhances how they were done by the original artists. Just see what I mean by his versions of " Change Gonna Come" by Sam Cooke, "My Girl" by Smokey Robinson, which was a hit for the Temptations, and so on.

This CD had many good tracks, but it is the "Adagio For Strings" that really stands out. Other tracks of note are "Hello, I Love You" by The Doors and "White Rabbit" by Jefferson Airplane. These songs capture the atmosphere of Vietnam as well as the film did. If you like any Vietnam films or just great music you'll love this.

A fair chunk of immortal soul music. Songs perfectly sung by the master. The Definitive Wilson Pickett sounds much better than I initially thought, perfectly remastered by genuine proffesionals. The highest voltage of The Land of 1000 Dances makes you feel good again even after a daily grind at work. Highly recommended for all from 5 to 100.
