This album is without doubt my favourite Floyd album. It has everything you need in a concept/prog rock/Floyd album. Some say its the last of the great Floyd albums, before waters took over, and it was more of waters solo work. Although Mason is never credited, his classic drumming is always there to help the flow the immense music. Again, we have a short number of tracks, but we still get a blistering 44 odd mins. With the epic that is Shine On You Crazy Diamond, the first five parts are 5 brilliant pieces of music, I think we've all heard Shine On part II (if not, look it up) with the combination of Ricks excellent Piano and Synth work, and Gilmours quite frankly perfect guitar, the first few pieces all fit together, and then we get waters ... Urban Hymns

Richard Ashcroft has never been one to undersell his own brilliance - his solo career may have been weak, and the first two Verve albums excellent, but on Urban Hymns the hype finally justified the mouth. Just as the Britpop bubble was about to burst, the Verve reformed for one last album, to sign off at their peak (although, obviously, they have since reformed again).

Urban Hymns is the distillation of everything great about the Verve, but with an extra poppy edge. The band generally reign in their psychedelic jams of the previous two albums, with notable exceptions being the fantastic 'Rolling People' and even better 'Catching The Butterfly.' I bought this album because I really like the track 'Mr Brightside' which is excellent and easily the best thing on the album. Some of the others are ok but I couldn't listen to this from start to finish as it would annoy me intensely. The reason I'm not that fond of it is because I often struggle to see a lot in mainstream pop music generally - it all seems to have either been done before or just doesn't mean anything to me I'm afraid! I appreciate that the band have been immensely successful and I would imagine that if you saw them live it would be a great performance. Not really my kind of thing on a CD though.

Dreaming Out Loud

I know that this band has influences from Coldplay and Keane, but they are much better than those bands in my opinion. I thought Keane's singles from the last album were great, especially Crystal ball, so I think this is more like the new Keane than the old Keane. Although I think OneRepublic is their own individual band and maybe they shouldn't be compared.
When I first heard this band's song re-mixed by Timbaland, I wasn't expecting the band to do any solo songs because I thought it was sort of organised by Timblalnd, but it turns out that Timbaland re-mixed OneRepublic's version of Apologize and made it sound better. Paranoid

Black Sabbath's most famous album with some amazing songs which are War Pigs, Paranoid, Iron Man(I Am Iron Man) & Fairies Wear Boots (best song on the album?). The rest of the album sadly took awhile to grow on me but when they do you start to notic some cool tracks like Hand Of Doom & Electric Funeral. Overall a brilliant album some wicked songs on but their debut album is so much better. So i suggest buy that first if you dont ave any Sabbath albums buy their Self titled debut album Black Sabbath that's mindblowing. BLACK SABBATH ROCK!!!!!!!

Of all the introspective styled singer-songwriters of the early seventies Carole King would perhaps seem a most unlikely candidate to adopt that genre - after all her success was at its peak a decade earlier when she was predominantly a songwriter alongside her husband Gerry Goffin penning a great many fondly remembered classics aimed at the teen market. Fortunately, her forte had always been strong melodies and 'Tapestry', her second album is no exception although its style is more intimate than the style of her early career.

Arrival

Arrival is in many people's opinion Abba's finest moment. Certainly an album containing 'Knowing Me-Knowing You', 'Money Money Money' and 'Dancing Queen' has to be a contender for Abba's greatest album.
Apart from these classic three singles, there are several other noteworthy tracks on this classic album. Had this album been released in the 80s there would have probably been even more classic hits lifted from this collection. A strong contender for fourth single would have been 'My Love My Life' beautifully sung by Agnetha. This album also contains one of Agnetha's favourite tracks 'That's Me'. Closing the album is the title track 'Arrival' which was later covered by Mike Oldfield and became a hit for him.
An album truly deserving of the title 'Classic'.
