Carcass pretty much invented the gore-grind genre with their debut album Reek of Putrefaction, and all the elements that make up Symphonies of Sickness are present in that first album - the shocking real-life autopsy cover collage artwork, the brutal medical dictionary lyrics, the triple vocal attack, the hyperspeed grinding music - the only real difference is that while Carcass' debut album formed the right musical and stylistic template for the band, musically it was a little rough and amateurish - on Symphonies of Sickness the band have got their act together in a major way.

Waking the Fury

It is very difficult to mention Annihilator without mentioning the first rate 'alice in hell' and 'never never land' in the same sentence(and my personal favourite 'Criteria for a black widow'). Since the halcyon days of thrash these classics set the standard and haven't really been lived up to ever since.

Waking the fury in my opinion has re-written the book on thrash metal. By no means have Annihilator returned to the early thrash sound, but have taken the best parts of Nu-metal i.e, aggression, detuned guitars (not winging or the over use of expletives) and have added their very own thrash ingredients.

Waters guitar playing seems to improve on every album made and the riffs on this cd are of no exception, these are some of the heaviest ... Read More:

This deserves a place in anyone's collection.

Show No Mercy

This album is awesome and it is obviously influenced by Iron Maiden and New Wave British Heavy Metal but it's the start of thrash metal. In some songs it will remind you of early Iron Maiden easily. This album is different to their later offerings but it's still amazing in my opinion this is better then Seasons In The Abyss & South Of Heaven (though still awesome albums this is better). Every track in my opinion are awesome. I think araya's vocals can be a bit strange sometimes but thats a small minor and his screams are amazing. This is a great place to start your collection of Slayer. If you like any Slayer you will or should like this. This is only the beginning of Slayer they could only get better and they did. SLAYER SLAYER SLAYER!!!!!!!!!!

Seasons in the Abyss

I've been listening to Slayer again since they released their new CD "Christ illusion" which is a good album. However I have to conclude that this is their best. I have all the albums since Reign in Blood and like them all, but each this one is the best.

This is for Hardend Overkill fans, When i saw the price and the Title (Thinking I Hadn't Got an Overkill Release By that Name), I Siad to my self "This is for me", Snap it Up. HOWEVER even though the Track Listings are Shown on the Page, I Never Realised that the Overkill Release "Unholy" was in Fact Just Two Previously Released Overkill Cds Packaged Under a Different Title. The Two Cds in Question that are Featured on The Cd "Unholy" are Disc 1 - "Wrecking Everything Live" And Disc 2 - "Killbox 13" So if you think you are going to Find something New here like New Versions of Some Tracks then your Going to Be Dissapointed.
I Rated the Release at 4/5 Because Sound and Production is Great and also It's another Overkill Release to add to your Collection no matter what way ... Read More:
