After the good but criticised "Set the world on fire", "King of the Kill" comes back with a blast. It is the first CD Jeff Waters is actually singing himself and surprisingly you could wonder why he ever needed to put up with the troubles in exchanging his singers from album to album. "King of the Kill" is a must for every Annihilator fan! It is Power Metal at its best without any compromises.

This is for Hardend Overkill fans, When i saw the price and the Title (Thinking I Hadn't Got an Overkill Release By that Name), I Siad to my self "This is for me", Snap it Up. HOWEVER even though the Track Listings are Shown on the Page, I Never Realised that the Overkill Release "Unholy" was in Fact Just Two Previously Released Overkill Cds Packaged Under a Different Title. The Two Cds in Question that are Featured on The Cd "Unholy" are Disc 1 - "Wrecking Everything Live" And Disc 2 - "Killbox 13" So if you think you are going to Find something New here like New Versions of Some Tracks then your Going to Be Dissapointed. I Rated the Release at 4/5 Because Sound and Production is Great and also It's another Overkill Release to add to ... Read More:

The transitional album for Voivod: with `Killing Technology' the band moved away from the noisy, chaotic thrash of their first two albums and began to expand their sound, tip-toeing into more prog territory and truly flexing their impressive musical muscles. `Killing Tech.' also heralded the start of Voivod's most impressive and successful period - this and the subsequent three albums are undoubtedly their finest.
The band still possess the raw and aggressive thrash tendencies of their early releases and vocalist Snake continues to scream his lyrics a little too often, but there's plenty of ambition in the lengthier arrangements and more complex time changes. Highpoints are hard to find as the album works best if it's listened to in one ... Read More:

I have a few Death albums but this one is the best by far. Even years later I still shake my head in disbelief at how good this album is when I listen to it. The musicianship is phenomenal. Even the bass guitaring is well-played with intricrate riffs, as opposed to just being a "3rd guitarist" like most metal bass players. This album is just so fun to listen to because it is technically brilliant, with all the instruments really working cohesively, but its also extremely melodic and...dare I say..beautiful. You can even sense some jazz and classical influences with the chord progressions and arpeggiated solos. This is NOT your average metal album. Chuck really used everything he knew about music to make this one.

OK – let’s get the obvious out of the way first – it’s Slayer, the ultimate thrash metal band, so obviously this is going to be essential to those fans with large enough wallets, but while it’s a pleasant package it’s a little empty in terms of content.
The biggest mystery to me is why bands ever bother to include material in box-sets that is already available elsewhere – surely the only people going to be spending such a large amount of money on a box set are going to be those hardcore fans who already own all the albums, so what’s the point of padding this set out with tracks lifted from Slayers previous albums? As such the majority of the first two CDs is pointless padding that you’ll ... Read More:

I seem to remember in 1994 there wereabout 3 people in the UK who didn't have the Chaos AD T shirt with the album cover on.
The album inspirted a generation and was part of the metal revival. While metal has moved on, it still is a classic album. It tries to be fiery and fearsome, and is on a big scale, while at the same time there are hooks, melodies and reason in the tracks. Vocalist Max Cavalera roars passionately about injustice and destruction, and you get the impression he means it.
'Refuse/Resist' is a great opener and was an anthem, 'Biotech' and 'Propeganda' set the world to rights, and I ain't arguing with him! 'Kaiowas' and 'We Who Are Not As Others' slow things down successfully without losing your interest.
