The whole album is strong throughout, with the great sound quality managing to capture the driving power of these amazing live performances. Unless you're a big soul fan, you might not be too familiar with the Mar-Keys, Booker T and the MGs, Eddie Floyd and Carla Thomas. But you'll recognise their big tunes, and this album provides a great platform for them (especially B-A-B-Y, Hig Hug Her and Green Onions of course).
But then, this is all the precursor for the main man-the Big O, Mr Otis Redding. His performance on this is electrifying, and ends with the most unbelievable recording of Try A Little Tenderness. Wednesday Night in San Francisco: Albert King Live at the Fillmore 1968/Remastered

For this writer this Wednesday Night gig was superior to the Thursday night due to the powerful 'I Get Evil' which features a fantastic intro, controlled guitaring throughout the versus and a monster solo. The band quicky get in their stride and Albert seems less dominant and plays more with the other musicians rather than 'over' them.
