Possibly the bargain of the year - five CDs with recording dates and lineups for all the tracks, appropriate photographs and brief historical notes on each disc.
At the core are the 100-plus tracks which appeared on the Bear Family 'Gallopin' guitar' 4-CD collection in the 90s. Add another 50 or so tracks from the mid-fifties and you have possibly the best collection of early Atkins that you can imagine - and Atkins fans can imagine quite a few! So,you don't get the Bear Family booklet and full discography, but if you are an Atkins fan, even of the most casual variety, you shouldn't miss this. Very highly recommended.

This is one of the earlier albums from Faith Hill, and its really good. Songs like `better days' and `the secret of life' are excellent.
Its impossible to go wrong with a Faith Hill cd, just pick an album, past or present and you will have picked up a classic album.
Music like this is very rare and doesn't come along very often at all.
Listen to it and be thankful that music like this has been made.

This interesting album of collaborations includes tracks that are available elsewhere. By no means amongst Emmylou's best albums, Duets nevertheless contains some real gems and provides a pleasant listening experience.
The uptempo track The Price I Pay sees Harris accompanied by the Desert Rose band, and is followed by the old classic with Gram Parsons, the timeless Love Hurts. Roy Orbison provides the male vocal on That Lovin' You Feelin' Again, a mellow middle of the road number, more pop than country, that works surprisingly well.
We Believe In Happy Endings (with Earl Thomas Conley) is a traditional, slow country ballad, whilst Thing About You (with Southern Pacific) is quite catchy with a lilting beat. Star Of Bethlehem, with ... Read More:

Critics -- and supposedly Jennings himself -- usually maintain his style was well and truly cramped by the machinations of his label RCA until around 1973 when he'd been making albums for almost a decade. Long out of print until now, this is the album to knock that argument flat. It's a Chet Atkins production on tracks from early 1967 to mid 1968 and is a perfect rich-sounding amalgam of Atkins two marketing concepts of the "Nashville Sound" and "Folk-Country". Jennings' voice is at it's most operatic. And material-wise it's all-killer-no-filler. The only cover-version (so often a lazy staple of 60's country albums) is a magnificent version of an already-great number: Neil Diamond's "Kentucky Woman". Otherwise it's stellar contemporary compositions from ... Read More:

Being a Johnny Cash fan I was eager to see the movie and hear the music I have always loved. It was great to hear that Johnny Cash himself had worked with the director prior to his passing. Joaquin Pheonix and Reese Witherspoon are wonderful in the movie and vocals on the soundtrack. I hightly recommend this CD to add to your collection!

Together with the complete sun recordings (and "Heartbreak Hotel"), this anthology is the ultimate statement of the recording powers of Elvis Presley. Only the Elvis tv-special recording of "If I Can Dream" and some of the recordings from the Nashville 1970 sessions and the 1969-1970 live recordings can even come close to the majesty of these great recordings. The 1st cd of the anthology pretty much sums up, why Elvis is the king. "Suspicious Minds" and "In the Ghetto" are just the tip of the iceberg. "Only the Strong Survive" (amazing Presley vocals), "Black Long Limousine", "I'll Hold You in My Heart", "Stranger in My Own Home Town" and "Without Love (there's Nothing)" are the other highlights and equal in every aspect to those big hits. If you like Elvis even ... Read More:

In the 1970s, Charlie Rich was one of the most popular Country music stars, in my opinion he was a much better artist than John Denver even though i do like a few of his songs.
Sadly "The Silver Fox" passed away the early 1990s but this greatest hits collection shows what a great singer he was. His three biggest hits make an appearance on this CD, "The Most Beautiful Girl", "A Very Special Love Song" and "Behind Closed Doors". All the songs here are pure country bliss, this is a fine collection that shows the true talent of Charlie Rich and at such a bargain price.
Recommened to all country music fans!

Not really too much to say here. All of Tammy's greatest hits are here in their rightful place. The songs themselves are wearing well, and the timeless classics sound as good today as when her hair was so big God himself used to reach down and backcomb it for her. My favourite song of Wynette's is Til I Can Make It On My Own, a plaintive ballad about a woman who is telling her ex that she may be leaning on him from time to time. It's one of her finest songs, and definitely one of her finest vocal performances. She had a hard life, and was on top of her game musically when she died so tragically. An excellent introduction to Wynette and a great country album in itself.
