With a line up containg names such as diamond j, mista sinista and roc raida, I knew from the moment I opened the cd it was gonna go down well. After hearing the 'Xpressions' album by the x-ecutioners, i was gagging to hear some more and so bought this, and boy was I glad. It contains a mixture of mellowed out beats with jazzy loops supplemented by fantastic scratching performances from Rob himself and other members of the x-men crew. The album contains tracks for all moods and is well worth the money, enjoy......

Ok. I love Ninja Tune. I think they're the most progressive and forward thinking label around these days, but I can't understand Fog at all. Ok, progressive it is, new and fresh yes, but it's not exactly listenable. The three stars I give it is for those wonderful wonderful chaps from Coldcut who sound as if they took the original and made it into what it was supposed to be. Amazing, brilliant, beautiful song, and the original is only a let-down.

I hadn't heard of Dj spooky before i went to the states last year, I picked up the cd by accident, had a listen, and enjoyed the rolling, drum n bass style content, and some of the more funky back drops, it moves from dark and moody, to soulful, with interludes of light hearted electro, it is hard to classify, but I find it equally as hard to stop myself being intrigued by its increasingly varied and mysterious content, with its thought provoking vocals, and cleverly composed, albeit short, interludes

Im pretty new to DJ Shadow, though i had quite thoroughly listened to Endtroducing and Private Press before obtaining this. Personally i found the centerpiece "What does your soul look like" a little dull, a fleshed out version of "What does your soul look like, pt4." on Endtroducing.
However, everything else is hugely entertaining, the highlights for me being the unforgettable "Organ Donor" and the sublime "High Noon"

My advice however is: Buy Entroducing and Private Press first.
