I purchased this CD because it has 2 songs written by the great Bruce Cockburn, and I wished to hear how Mary would interpret these gems. To my pleasant surprise, not only did she perform Cockburn's songs beautifully, she also has put together an entire album of truly outstanding performances. Even though I own many (too many!) CD's, Valentine has not left my CD changer since I purchased it more than a month ago. It is that good.

If you're after a good Bonnie Tyler compilation covering the rock music she made with the CBS record label from 1983-1988, this has to be the one to buy.
The hits are present, "Holding Out For A Hero", "Total Eclipse Of The Heart", "Have Your Ever Seen The Rain" and "Faster Than The Speed Of Night". Secrets & Lies is stunning. Simple as that.
Taint share similarities with bands such as Clutch, Baroness, High On Fire & Neurosis but bring a uniquely British perspective into the mix. It's a seamless blend of all that's good about progressive Hardcore & classic rock: Awesome riffs, heartfelt vocals & well structured composition. It all gels together perfectly & the production is Organic but clear, giving a sound that is both powerful & natural. I can't fault anything, even the artwork is perfect.

This early EP is surprisingly good. It also contains the original version of the excellent God! Show Me Magic!, which is basically the same except for the production, but still different enough to be satisying for a collector of their songs, and good enough to be enjoyable to listen to. The last song/songs (Focus Pocus/Debiel) are possibly the best on the EP though, the first half being a fast ansd furious rock 'n' roll track with an short but excellent flute section, the second, which follows without a break, a mellow and beautiful tune with a moving melody. Although not for general consumption due to its inflated price as a rarity, this Ep is worth buying for anyone more than usually interested in the SFA. It's as simple as this:-I have the album that this is on,but I still had to get the single,when I saw the breathtaking view of Carlingford Lough on the front cover in its Sean Hillen "Irelantis" incarnation.However,don't think for a second that I wasted my money.Quite apart from the awe inspired in my girlfriend when I told her I lived there and that she could come and see it(Result!),it's also a tremendous tune.It has the feel of a fight between the Beach Boys and Status Quo taking place with Galdiator-style cotton buds,with added the bonus of some confused people trying to work out why some barely coherent Cambrians are phoning them up to tell them about drawing rings around the world also in the mix.And it's every bit as fantastic as that sounds.
