Jack's spectacular inability to achieve a commercial breakthrough of any kind, in the UK at least, is one of those little injustices that can irritate during idle hours spent driving to and from work. Over the last three months, many of those hours have been spent in the company of this magnificent third album.
For anyone who's been along for the ride from the word go, the opening two tracks on the album are a bit of a shock. Where lunar landscapes, heavy orchestration, stretched ballads and the odd rocker have previously dominated proceedings, this album's title track and the single "Emperor of New London" incorporate an almost brutal dance sound from the off, with guest "narrators" Kirk Lake and Dan Fante ... this cd of which i just got, brought back some old memories that i thought i would never see again. songs such as that old black magic, you came a long way from st.louis, a taste of honey, my prayer, georgia on my mind,i remember having the album on the old vinyl. those songs were off an album of which i can not remember but would love to find out one day. i listened to the cd while couriering around winnipeg man canada, and was able to stay relaxed. tom does a great job on songs like fly me to the moon, hey jude etc. for those who loved tom jones back in the mid to late 60's , during the green green grass era, this cd is for you. i may be from canada, but i grew up with tom jones, as my late parents loved tom jones, and with the fact he was and probably ... This single was going to be a make or break for lost prophets. The question on everybody's lips: was it worth the wait? After so long out, a bad first single could be the last nail on their coffin. But Burn Burn is a great song! Catchy in the same way as shinobi vs. dragon ninja, with a new sound (heavier, stronger vocals, influences from both metal and emohardcore) to try and usher the band out of the sinking numetal genre. It remains to be seen if the up and comming album is as great as the first, but if this is a good indication (as i think it is: I heard some of their other new material live in london, it was just as good), then lostprophets will truely be back, and whats more will be a force to contend with.

Starting with A-side 'Host', this recording from the Morfa Stadium gig with the Stereophonics proves that the Crocketts are more than your average band. After the mellow 'Host' which infects and soothes your appetite for sound, the energy steps up a gear. Now a classic amongst fans, 'Will You Still Care' with it's anthemic 'I Don't ****ing Think So' chorus sees The Crocketts at their finest. This three track CD ends with another favourite from their debut album(We May Be Skinny And Wirey) called 'Strong Guy'. This calm stop-starting song ends up a full on punk affair with lead singer Davey on the floor( i imagine) screaming his head off while fellow members Dan Owen and Rich grind their instruments to a halt. Alas! This is not all. Being the nice boys ... Read More:
