This cd is a must have, it contains some of their best songs. They are alot heavier and raw then in most of their other songs on their later albums. It contains red is the new black and escape artists never die which are on casually dressed. But includes 5 other amazing songs. The Getaway plan is an amazing song and the vocals sound alot different as Matt Davies was experimenting with his voice. All in all it contains the best songs FFAF have ever written. Buy It!!

This is definitely the best of all the Adiemus albums, it combines the usual African chant and classical music with rhymic beats and startling originality. This is also the only album that makes full use of the dark, rich sound of the female singer, only occasionally used in other albums. This womans voice is so powerful and moving that her songs (of which there are only three on the album)have a tendancy to overshadow the others. However each of the other tracks have a magic of their own, combining pan pipes, traditional instruments and the human voice to take the listener on a journey.

Mary Hopkin was one of those 1960s UK pop singers influenced by folk music, like the early Marianne Faithfull. She made breezy melodic pop music with flair and had huge hits with Those Were The Days, Temma Harbour and Knock Knock Who's There. There is a special wistful quality in her voice that makes these songs still resonate in my mind after all these years. The album also includes pop standards like Que Sera Sera and the folk classic Streets Of London which she interprets gracefully, plus a song in Italian. If you like melodic pop from the 60s and early 70s, you'll love this album. I also recommend it to fans of Marianne Faithfull's early work and of Francoise Hardy.

Bonnie Tyler is without doubt the greatest female voice in rock music. This collection brilliantly showcases her talents as a rock, pop and country singer. The set focuses on Bonnie's early days as a recording artist on the label RCA from 1976 to 1981, this CD contains some brilliant songs including the hits, "Lost In France", "More Than A Lover", "It's A Heartache" and "Married Men". Stand out album tracks for me are "Heaven", "Sometimes When We Touch", "Goodbye To The Island" and the rare "Come On Give Me Some Lovin".
So, if you are lookng for a album of Bonnie's early music, this is the best single CD around so be sure to give it a go, her voice really is amazing.

Equally Cursed and Blessed

I ordered this album without great expectation after seeing an average score of 4 stars here on amazon, but it has greatly exceeded my expectations. In my opinion it's every bit as good as Way Beyond Blue and International Velvet.

As always with Catatonia there's real variety of musical style here, from the ultra pop melodies of Karaoke Queen, Londinium and She's A Millionaire to the more serious and sophisticated Bulimic Beats and Shoot The Messenger and the awesome and powerful Dazed, Beautiful and Bruised, which is possibly Catatonias best piece of music, and would be one of the best songs I've ever heard if it had an extra verse.

Lost Songs 1995-1998

A moody album that can make your hairs stand on end. This album is spine-tingly good. If you like White Ladder (like myself) or acoustic tracks in general, then you should not hesitate to buy this album. This is David Gray's best offering but it is raw. Not an album for chart-music/pop fans. Buy it!
