I've been an Enya fan for twenty years and the thing that you can never mistake is the unique "Enya" sound and the wonderful calming effect it can give the listener. Her music has got me through some very stressful times in my life.

Although a winter and Christmas themed album I truly feel this can be played at any time of year and would still sound great. Having said that, this album really does capture the feeling of frost and snow-covered fir trees etc.

The tracks are varied with a nice selection of soft slow tracks along with the more up tempo ones. Of the latter ones, I challenge anyone not to have "Trains and Winter Rains" going around in their head for days! For me, one of the most beautiful tracks has to be ... Read More:

This is a fantastic double CD set. All the hits and an excellent disc 2 of other songs. And the box set is rather snazzy.

The track listing shown here on Amazon and virtually everywhere else is inaccurate. The first CD of this set has exactly the same listing as the single CD of Decade In The Sun so no one is getting shortchanged. It has 20 tracks kicking off with Dakota and ending with Handbags and Gladrags - exactly the same as the single CD album.

The second disc contains a host of other great tracks.

If you're a Stereophonics and thinking about getting this double CD set, buy it.

In an entertainment business full of faked stance and faux emotion, all of a sudden something REAL has come along. Glasvegas are tough, rough around the edges but ultimately this is the genuinely most affecting releases not just in 2008 but for many years.

Let's be clear about this, 'Glasvegas' aren't romanticised 'loser' jangle from the bedroom of a semi-detached, this is raw anguish, the sound of souls being shreaded by the dismal reality of life on the streets of the East End of Glasgow. The album covers such topics as gang violence, disfunctional families and perhaps most of all the utter desperation of the poverty trap and the yearning for a better life.

What an absolutely magnificent release this is.From the soulful,upbeat strut of the opener "You Are The Best Thing" all the way to the hushed beauty of the title track which closes proceedings , Ray and his cohorts simply never put a foot wrong.It is ,i believe, a modern classic and a firm contender for Album Of The Year .
I came to this release with no knowledge of this guy's previous work , i'd heard his name and read about him but never got around to checking out his music. I cannot therefore tell you how this new work compares to previous releases , what i can tell you , without doubt , is that this is a CD i've been playing constantly for the past 3 or 4 weeks now and i've never got bored yet , in fact it just seems to get better every time i play the damn ...
