I don't normally write reviews, but I couldn't help it reading what some people think about this album. So, if you don't like Dylan, don't understand the greatest songwriter of this (or any other) generation, then don't bother listening to this album, don't buy it and DON'T, for goodness' sake, write reviews!
Listen to Romance in Durango, listen to Black Diamond Bay (Yes, Hurricane, Joey, they are all great) and hear the master storyteller at work. Follow the story in "Durango" and if you fail to shiver as he sings "I feel a sharp pain" then you are made of stone.
Fail to smile as you are taken to Black Diamond Bay where all the characters show up almost af if leftovers from Desolation Row and you have no sense of humour. Then hear ... Read More:

Bullet for My Valentine's debut album, and what a debut, awesome riffs, powerful vocals and emmense Solo's is what a debut should have. Having heard only two songs from this album before I bought it, I thought it was about time broadened my musical horizons (from just listening to Metallica & Slipknot!). Beginning the album with a soft melodic intro, which features Apocalyptica, which leads prefectly into 'Her Voice Resides', A Thrash annihilation with screams but leads to smooth vocals by Matt Tuck and the boys.
'Cries in Vain' was originally taken from their self-titled five track UK EP and the US six track EP Hand of Blood and '4 Words (To Choke Upon)' was originally taken from the EP Hand of Blood.
Overall, this album has put Bullet ... Read More:

Kate Rusby is a treat and possibly the most unsung performer in the UK. I own hundreds of CDs and very few of them continue to move me like "The Girl Who Couldn't Fly". From the teasing, light-hearted rhyme of `Mary Blaize' to the haunting simplicity of `Fare Thee Well', this album is a treat for the ears and a journey for the emotions. 'No Names' is the ultimate highlight for me, specifically because of Roddy Woomble's fantastic contribution. The vast space between Kate and Roddy's tones serves only to add to the bittersweet parting message that the song contains. This is a wonderful album that deserves much wider critical aclaim than it has received so far.

The middle album of Nick Drake's all too short recording career is his shot at what some world call "pop". Obviously a kind of 'folk-rock pop', some distance from the desolate tone of his last record Pink Moon, and a fuller, more upbeat sound from his sensational debut Five Leaves Left.
Everything about Bryter Layter is extraordinary. Nick's incredible guitar style pushes songs on just like FLL, Joe Boyd's elegant production is still in place, but here he is comlimented by a "who's who" of Island record label-mates as backing, including John Cale, Dave Mattacks, Richard Thompson and Dave Pegg.
The song's themselves are among Drake's very best. The three instrumentals are certainly not filler material, but the other songs simply take ... Read More:

Those at "The Only Album You'll Ever Need" studios have really succeeded in putting together an excellent arrangement of 34 masterpieces for the classical guitar in "The Only Guitar Album You'll Ever Need."
It is true that classical guitar playing attracts only a limited range of people, but even if you only mildly enjoy or are the slightest bit interested in hearing works by famous guitar composers such as Rodrigo, Villa-Lobos or even Bach, then "The Only Guitar Album You'll Ever Need" won't fail to please you.
I was content to see that the majority of the most famous guitar pieces were included here; including 'Concierto de Aranjeuz' (if only the second movement) and 'Cavatina' (this time played by Simon ... Read More:

This is the album which finally made Dylan accesible to the masses.Which includes me-I'd only heard of Dylan via Peter Paul & Mary and Johnny Cash but a matter of months later came the single Subterranean Homesick Blues and the first electric versions via the Byrds and the Turtles.
Dylan had gone electric after hearing House of the Rising Sun by the Animals.
His next albums were 100% per cent solid Good Time Music.
By the time of psychedelia Dylan was setting the scenes for his next music-country and more acoustic.
His first albums were only accesible if you had got into his music from this one.
And that in a nutshell is how it worked in this country

Sheer brilliance, flowing against the tide of pop tripe the continualy fills the airways.
If your a fan of acoustic guitar music, buy this album. Scrap that just buy this album, the only complaint you'll have is ...damn it's finished. At a shade over 30 min's it's short by modern standards.
But don't feel short changed as every track is shimmering with mesmerizing beauty.
The better your system the more wonderful detail you can extract.
Jose plays with a passion that you can feel with each strum.
He may not have earth shattering vocals, but they blend seemlessly and become part of of the whole experience - John Martin fans will appreciate this.
The album has a certain quality that can make you loose yourself in distant thoughts, positive thoughts, ... Read More:
