There is some rare vinyl on this CD, which is great for the collector as many have been unobtainable for years. It's a nice memento of the Channel 4 series, and it's a fair selection. But not all of them are relevant to 'House' history. Many early British house attempts were positively dreadful, especially their appearance on pop programmes.

Born in Manchester, I lived and worked in the city centre throughout the mid 80's to early 90's. Most of my lunch hours were spent listening and buying imported US house records in shops like 'The Spin Inn', 'Expansion Records' and 'Eastern Bloc'. I liked all 3cd's but may be the cd's 1 and 2 slightly more than the 3rd, but then again I think I am being too critical. You would want to keep listening to them over and over again.
Judge Jules has done a brilliant job at mixing this in a excellent order. The music from different artists play on seamlessly. If you like this kind of music you will not be disappointed. Just brilliant.

Trance Classics

It mystifies me as to how the MoS can call this a collection of 'classics'. This album is purely commercial, and if you're looking for some true definitive trance music then look away. After being an avid fan of this genre for so long I was almost in tears at such a tracklist.

Let's start with the positives - and trust me, this won't take long. Tracks like 'System F - Out of the Blue', and 'Gouryella - Gouryella' certainly deserve to be on an album bearing such a title, as it's true that they have been a huge influence on the trance scene. 'William Orbit - Barber's Adagio For Strings (Ferry Corsten Mix)' is another true classic, along with possibly 'Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar'.
