The Story [Limited Digipak] [Us Import]Search: Again Today by: Brandi Carlile Release Date April 03, 2007 I dont know off the top of my head where I heard of Brandi Carlile but I can tell you i dont regret it for a minute. After a few weeks of frustatingly listening to her off YouTube I bought this album and her self-titled album. This album combines folk, rock, country and soul in one amazing package. Highlights for me are the opening track "Late Morning Lullaby", "Turpentine" which Carlile wrote as a teenager, "Have You Ever" and "The Story", the last two written by Brandi's band mate Phil Hanseroth who plays and sings harmonies on most tracks and forms Brandi's touring band along with his brother Tim (who co-wrote a few on the album too). "Josephine" is a rootsy, old style folk tune with perfect 3-part harmony and simple guitar picking. ... Read More: |

Graveyard Mountain Home: Limited EditionSearch: Again Today by: Chroma Key Release Date November 22, 2004 Put simply, if you're a fan of Ghost Book, Kevin's soundtrack to a Turkish film, you're getting more of what you loved. I bought Ghost Book a couple of months ago, but still haven't got round to listening to it properly, as it's mixed in amongst a bunch of other new purchases, so I can't really comment on it with much authority. What can be said is that the first two Chroma Key albums were masterpieces of mood AND songwriting - great soundtracks to life, really - and they still enchant me 3+ years on. When it comes to this more abstruse sort of music, demonstrated in Ghost Book and Graveyard Mountain Home, I am not historically the greatest fan, but I know that Chroma Key is worth the time it will take to get into.
