Datapanik in the Year Zero [Us Import]Search: Brakes by: Pere Ubu Release Date December 23, 1999 I've been a fan of Ubu since the early 80s and this is an excellent collection - all the early albums are here along with the 'Datapanik' EP. This in itself is good, but the inclusion of a live CD with some particularly good alternate takes on Ubu classics almost makes this set indispensible. What pushes this into being indisputable is the final CD - a set of related material from Ubu linked bands. I played the whole set through and had to play CD five a few times because of the excellence of the material - brilliant! Not something to recommend to the rock fadists, but a must for the serious Ubu fan. I just look forward to the inevitable boxset of the later years. |
