Great album. Of course no eighties album is complete without Kayleigh by Marillion, probably the finest song of that decade, and this CD does the great song justice by making it the first track. The other song I believe deserves special mention is Vienna by Ultrvox........
Release Date November 24, 2008
I can't believe the reviewer (Debbie) who says she didn't know most of these tracks! If she was there in the 1980s, she must have had ear plugs in and a paper bag over her head! This album is a great compilation at a bargain price - fantastic for listening to in the car, or quizzing your mates (who was that?), or demonstrating your vast knowledge of 1980s pop trivia. For the discerning listener, this series of albums prompts wider research into some of these artists - the excellent Blancmange, for example, and whatever happened to Kon Kan?
At less than £1 per disc, this is amazing value. For those who weren't there it provides a pretty good overview of what was happening in that decade.

Don't be misled by the title. This CD was a bitter disappointment to my father's fellow residents at the Primrose daycare centre. A careless error by a member of staff quickly shattered expectations of a timeless film-soundtrack to accompany the Sunday picnic. The residents unanimously concurred that Timmy Mallett's rendition of 'Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini' was no substitute for Sir Cliff's dulcet vocals. Also, having the Cheeky girls sing 'touch my bum' did NOT help to maintain the expected level of decorum. To this day, I believe that something less racy would have prevented my father from having a 'stroke' in full-view of stunned picnickers.
