Brilliant! - You know why? Because this simply involves two decks, a mixer (I'm guessing the DJM600 if the much used filter effect on this CD is anything to go by) and a very talented DJ. I love this mix in its glorious entirety. What's more - it's live. On a good stereo, you can actually here the occasional record crackle! The mixing is by and large first rate - beat perfect, lengthy and in key and the programming is at times, inspired!! I still listen to this compliation an awful lot today and still play out some of the tunes on it myself - especially Schudelfloss, Twist & Shout, Same Sun Same Sky and Bullet, because they still sound so fresh & funky....

There is no doubt to the 'classic' status of the tracks on this album. They are all memorable and some are still played in clubs today. It is becoming a bit of a washout though since there are zillions of compilations just like this on the market. If you have one of the classic compilations you have them all! Each of these compilations have the majority of the same tracks on them.
Judging on its own merits this compilation is a bit of a mare. The mixing is sporadic in timing and quality. For instance the mixing between Needin U and Dreamer is very good, but other mixes are 'just press stop on one and start on the other at the same time' mixing. After buying a number of other ministry of sound CDs i was expecting yet another great compilation album and i got it! It's a really great CD which has all the best tunes from back in the day.
Theres a large selection of tunes, some pumping, some chill out, giving a good all round selection.
I would give it 5 stars however i still prefer trance to this CD.
Definately the finest CD in the ministry's old skool collection and worth getting.

I have spent ages, not to mention a great deal of money, getting my hands on the PVD E-werk club mix of For An Angel, Aphrodite, Strange World (2000 remake), Xpander, etc etc. Why oh why did they wait until now to release this collection? It's a conspiracy I tell you. But you know I had to buy it, and so should you. This is the finest trance collection around (my own excepted). Please try not to be put off by the fact that these tracks are un-mixed - deep down you know that a really good mix is the exception these days.

Surprisingly good compilation of Mastercuts. Some of the newer compilations of Mastercuts have many fillers or even live tracks, this one don't. I like 20 out of 30 songs, also many songs are in the full 12" mix. Some are outstanding, like the Francois K Mix of a Nina Simone classic. Only for this song it's worth buying!
If you like chill music with a bit of tempo, don't miss this one!
