The music performed here is generally very good, with Mojave Plan being one of my favourite live pieces, however, this release should have been so much better. If the company who copied it from the Tangerine Tree fan release had taken half an hour to edit out the tape cut at the beginning of disc 2, I'd have awarded it 4 stars, but the lazyness of their transfer without appearing to check the finished result properly is awful. If you have software like Adobe Audio, then you could possibly edit the break yourself and burn a replacement disc 2 for your own personal benefit - otherwise, you may find the cut very annoying.

The general music in this set is more or less the same as that on the British tour at the end of 1980. This recording generally has more 'fan' noise and is not as clear as the superb sounding Preston show on 5th November. If money is not a problem, this is an enjoyable set of music - if money is tight, I'd recommend the Preston show ahead of this on the basis of it's better sound quality.

The general music in this set is more or less the same as that on the British tour at the end of 1980. Akercocke are very much a hybrid metal band and are as extreme as they come in many levels but they are more interesting than the majority of ultra heavy bands as they blend electronic moments with acoutic moments and clean vocals along with the standard black metal and death metal styles.
Thats not to say that i think that they will appear on gmtv live anytime soon but they are a band that challenge peoples conception of heavy music.
Choronzon is the bands third album and most acclaimed and is an album that can batter your senses while bringing great moments of melody and unpredictable moments to the foreground as well.The band may dress in suits and look like members of a choir but they dwell in evil and this is very much an evil ... This 2 CD set contains a fair representation of almost all of the Tangerine Dream albums recorded in the period 1973 to 1983 (the only ones missing are "Sorcerer", "Pergamon" and "Cyclone"). While it is not always the best track from each album that makes it into this set, and some are presented in bleeding chunk form only, these discs do give the listener a good overview of each album, making this a good sampler set from which to set out on an exploration of the music of Tangerine Dream's so-called Virgin Years.
