This CD seems to have got lost somewhere along the way in that shops don't stock it and very few people seem to have heard of it - which is a shame! The CD contains just one of his better known songs ( Starwood In Aspen) and good covers of songs from contemporaries such as Kristofferson (Casey's Last Ride), John Prine (Blow up your TV). However, the best part of the album is a reminder that Denver was also a protest singer and some songs were quite hard-hitting - listen to Readjustment Blues.

All in all, a GOOD BUY

Always on my mind, City of New Orleans and Georgia on my mind had all been successful for other singers but Willie did each of them his way, breathing fresh life into them. Willie was also brilliant with original material, as he shows on My heroes have always been cowboys, On the road again and others. There is just one duet here - Pancho and Lefty (with Merle Haggard).
