Most of the time, when artists re-release an already successful album it's a blatant cash in with only one or maybe two songs added to make it viable. That makes it a rip off for the fans who already rushed out to buy the original and has long been a bugbear of mine.

With this re-release of FutureSex/LoveSounds we have here a rarity - a deluxe package which actually has a great deal of extra bonus material to justify it (if you'll pardon the pun). There's an entire DVD of extra performances, videos and behind the scenes commentary and footage plus a number of new remixes with guest appearances by various artists.

This is a great album. There are hard rock songs, quieter songs 'sea of forgetfulness' and middle of the road songs. A well rounded album. End of my rope is a great song, one of my favourites on the album.

It's just a shame that their ealier project 'the hunger' is so hard to get hold of and that they have split up.

this is an excellent collection, i can't recommend it highly enough. XTC have been my 'pet' band for a few years now, i could pick up an album here and there knowing that there'd be something to justify the spent pennies. taking the plunge, i forked out the cash for this set - and it's absolutely superb! i haven't heard a bad track on here yet (i'm about six hours through). the demos for released tracks sound like bona fide alternate versions rather than, well, demos. there're also instances of mister partridge's interest/inquisitiveness for other musical genres (dub/electronica/etc)possibly not visited so whole-heartedly on xtc albums, and plenty of the playfulness that turned me into such a fan. i couldn't recommend a single disc for those who want to taste ...
