The Police were an excellent band and this is an excellent Police album.

Ghost in the Machine marked a change in the way they wrote music; it’s a ‘darker’ album than the previous three and certainly more adventurous musically and lyrically. I can’t think of one bad song, even the token tracks by Stewart Copeland & Andy Summers are good. Definitely one of the best albums of the eighties, and although Synchronicity was hailed as their greatest achievement I think that Ghost is in many ways superior. Thoroughly Recommended!

The SACD version is sublime, definitely a strong case for the format.

The Police were an excellent band and this is an excellent Police album.

Having been a Police fan from my teenage years and finally seeing them again reformed at Twickenham 2007, this remastered greatest hits/tour album really gets the pulse racing. If you didn't have the luxury of seeing them in concert the album contains all the songs performed over the 2 nights apart from "When The World is Running Down....".still can't understand why this particular song was omitted from the album but, the others are all absolute classics. If you were lucky enough to attend one night of the tour listen and remember.........

Amazon's own definition of this album is that it is by Sting. This is NOT the case. It is extremely misleading to suggest otherwise, and I would guess that it might even contravene the Trades Description Act in the U.K. to suggest that this is the case. the album is nothing less than a few karaoke singers and session musicians performing their own versions of Sting songs. In fact one of the songs is called "La Belle" when in fact the correct title is "La Belle Dame Sans Regrets" from Sting's 1996 Mercury Falling album. If you like The Police or Sting, please don't buy this album as you may be dissapointed. (I had to give it one star to allow my review to be posted, otherwise I would have given it zero stars).
