Of especial note are the 1971 TOTP recordings of Let's Hang On and I've Got You Under My Skin, both live, very well recorded and very true to the 1971 stage sound. Frankie's voice is at its best and this has to be heard loud to get the full dramatic impact. Thoroughly recommended. |

Their copying was brilliant-the Marvelettes had only just dropped from the No 1 position when the song was rewritten for Dee Dee Sharp as Mashed Poato Time. There was of course a stack more not oeven on here-try their CDs On the Northern Side where they copy no end of stuff from Dobie Gray to Motown and Stax! The British Invasion never stopped them as they set up the Wyncote label to at least suggest the British covers were from Britain!
