. Attention DeficitSearch: Exchange by: Attention Deficit Release Date November 06, 2006 Ive only just discovered this trio. Wow. Jazz-rock fused with a little psychedelia. Powerful & brilliant. Outstanding musicians. On the cover they state "no synthesisers", so they could be described as sonic contortionists. Skolnick has a harder edge than Holdsworth, Fripp, Torn, less rock than Beck, less jazz than Rypdal & Aarset, probably closer to Machacek & Henderson but if you like any of these guitarists you should enjoy his work. Manring plays 4, 6 and 10 string basses (to my untrained ears they sound fretless). Fans of Stanley Clarke, Jeff Berlin, Percy Jones, Jaco etc will especially enjoy the contrabass excursions.
