The Coronation of King George IISearch: Farmer John from: Hyperion Release Date October 19, 2001 I was very fortunate to walk into Exeter Cathedral one summer's day a few years ago and happen to come across four men banging their drums in procession. In the distance by the pulpitum screen was a stage, assembled with choir and orchestra. A hymn started up (the orchestra standing up and joining in too), and then the conductor motioned for them to sit. I quickly made my way to the front of the nave, and as I sat down, so the orchestra started to play Zadok the Priest. It was the King's Consort practising for their concert of the reconstruction of the Coronation of George II in 1727. The Pye Anthology 1963-1967Search: Farmer John by: Searchers Release Date May 01, 2006 It simply doesn't get any better than the first CD of this collection...although the 2nd disc is pretty good as well. Of course there are all the great Searchers' singles but the standout track is "Ain't Gonna Kiss Ya" written by P J Proby - a great lead track from an EP but why wasn't it issued as a single. OK they couldn't write like the Beatles but a lot of their tracks ran them pretty close. |

. 20 Fabulous Hits of the 60sSearch: Farmer John by: The Searchers Release Date September 23, 1997 OK, I was around when The Searchers had their records in the Top 40 first time around, and although their sound was and is fabulous, it just wasn't 'Hip' to be seen to have their albums in your collection. But now I'm older and wiser and I've been to see them play live as they're still around, and now I'm quite happy to have one of their CD's in my collection because I'm a big boy now and 'Hip' was daft, anyway. The Live show obviously gets the nostalgia thing going and other than enoying a darned great night out hearing their music, the nett result is buying the 'Greatest Hits' album; job done! 20 Tracks on this one, and as they're not listed, I'll do so.
