This compilation from 1989 includes quite a number of artists from earlier eras or those who were already well established at the time, like Phil Collins, Mike And The Mechanics, Cher, Tina Turner, U2, Dusty Springfield, Debbie Harry, Roy Orbison, Status Quo and Simple Minds. Relatively new ones include Electronic, Technotronic, The Stone Roses and Kaoma. My personal favourites from this year include Kirsty MacColl’s beautiful rendition of Days, Neneh Cherry’s Manchild, The Stone Roses’ Fool’s Gold and Technotronic’s Pump Up The Jam, a blistering dance track. If you are a fan of 1980s and the music from that wonderful area then this collections a must have, if you were around during those 10 years and a reader of "Smash Hits" magazine, you will no doubt enjoy it even more and all the happy memories will all come flooding back to you, I can guarantee it.

I really love this album from the great front cover right down to all the brilliant and different tracks.

I have all the previous Chick Flicks album and am a big fan and this one doesn't disappoint. It not only has the great movie songs but also TV songs Like the Phantom Planet OC theme which I did not know what it was called before I bought this. Also the great Snow Patrol song which is in the trailer for The Last Kiss.

That's some of my Christmas Presents sorted as I'm buying this for my sister and best friend as I know they'll love it.

I can't believe the reviewer (Debbie) who says she didn't know most of these tracks! If she was there in the 1980s, she must have had ear plugs in and a paper bag over her head! This album is a great compilation at a bargain price - fantastic for listening to in the car, or quizzing your mates (who was that?), or demonstrating your vast knowledge of 1980s pop trivia. For the discerning listener, this series of albums prompts wider research into some of these artists - the excellent Blancmange, for example, and whatever happened to Kon Kan?
At less than £1 per disc, this is amazing value. For those who weren't there it provides a pretty good overview of what was happening in that decade.
