The quality of song craft is exceptional, the vocal performance really builds it will surprise you. The musicianship is also really nice, these people know their craft. Cats like Beyonce must just listen and weep, this is for real. |

. The CollectionSearch: Foolish Fool by: Dee Dee Warwick Release Date September 26, 2005 Dee Dee Warwick is Dionne Warwick's younger sister. This of course makes her related to Cissy and Whitney Houston. Dee Dee is a too often overlooked member of that soul dynasty. She doesn't have Dionne's rich cream caramel crossover vocal ability, but Dee Dee's voice is a more pure, soulful instrument. These recordings come from her stay at Mercury records in the mid/late 60s. They include 'I'm Gonna Make You Love Me', which predates The Supremes/Temptations hit version by a couple of years. I'm not sure if this is the original, as the song was also recorded by Madeline Bell (who later settled in the UK and joined Blue Mink). . AcousticSearch: Foolish Fool by: Sublime Release Date December 23, 1999 With a CD like this the inevitable question has to be, why? Why press into a CD a collection of songs containing mainly tracks recorded over a room full of people talking? It seems like Nowell is actually getting in the way of people's conversations in a bar and that for all they care the music is coming from a slightly harsh sounding Jukebox in the corner. Nobody appears to be even aware that he is even there. The rest of the tracks are the type you would expect as fillers between actual songs on a decent album, here they are the album! Strictly for the undiscerning. |

. Rarites Box Set: +DVDSearch: Foolish Fool by: Sublime Release Date March 12, 2007 I maybe writing this review from a slightly biased viewpoint as sublime are one of my favourite bands. But just take a listen to this fantastic compilation and you will simply be blown away by the varied styles and genres on the cds, it shows lots of their earlier stuff which was of course poorly recorded but i feel that this adds to the atmosphere of the tracks, i love this collection, i own nearly every sublime track avaliable to buy and i just cannot get enough of this fantastic compliation, well worth £40 or anyones money! jay |
