The WildestSearch: For Good by: Louis Prima Release Date March 26, 2008 Before I bought this, the only thing I knew about Louis Prima was that he'd voiced an ape in "The Jungle Book," and remembering how I danced around as a kid listening to "I Wanna Be Like You," I was fairly intrigued to see how the man would put an album together. I needn't have worried. This is joyous, wonderful music, played by people who are obviously on the same wavelength. Prima even makes the band giggle at one point. The music reminded me of Ray Ellington, part of the eponymous Goon Show, and perhaps for this reason, I seemed to connect with the music itself, especially Prima's rendition of "Buona Sera." The Capitol RecordingsSearch: For Good by: Louis Prima Release Date September 27, 1994 This box set contains 8 cd's in total, 4 cd's are with Louis Prima as lead singer(duets included, of course), 2 cd's with Kelly Smith as solo singer and 2 with Sam Buttera. There are not too many outtakes in this box, mostly regular & live recordings in very good sound! LP sized box has a nice 'booklet' too, but unfortunately it's not up to Bear Family standards when it comes down to literature. Music is great and fun as usual with Louis Prima. If you find this box too expensive or not necessary, I would recommend 2cd edition 'Wild, Cool & Swinging' - best of Capitol years which contains all his famous songs and some rarities in superb sound.
