Being a big disco fan, and a mobile DJ, this release interested me greatly.

I have to say I agree with the previous review about the mixing - really not good at all. The mixing would be acceptable in a live mix, like in a club, but for listening it really is shoddy at times.

As for the song selection - pretty good. Many big hitters included, proper disco anthems like 'The Average White Band - Let's Go Round Again', 'The Trammps - Disco Inferno' and 'Hues Corporation - Rock The Boat'.
There are also some lesser known gems (commercially) such as 'The Three Degrees - Giving Up Giving In' and 'Cerrone - Supernature'.
Some tracks i feel should have been omitted however, like the opener - 'The Real Thing - Can ... Read More:

Saw this album on the cheap a little while ago at a market and thought why not...and its amazing. If like me your into the really funky seventies and eighties disco tunes you will love this, its got all the really funky ones you sometimes hear and dont know the names...so you think you will never have it in your cd collection. Honestly trust me buy this you wont be disapointed, it really is one of the best music buys ive made in the last ten years.

You could play a fully credible disco night armed with nothing more than these five cds. If a definitive chart was made of the 500 top tunes from the dance decade of 1975-1984 this set would claim an absolute minimum of 50 places.
One ill informed reviewer knocks legenary weekender tunes on CD3 as fillers and bemoans the lack of Abba, Bee Gees and Dexy's Midnight Runners. It's precisely that absence which makes this such a credible set. I already owned perhaps 80 or 90 of these tracks but the purchase was well worth it for Janice Macclain's Smack Dab in the Middle and then again for the huge grin that spread across my face when I heard Wikka Wrap again for the first time in twenty years.
