When I found the CD, I had to get it. I have noticed some changes they've made since the record days. Generally, these were made to reflect changes in the cast of the show over the last 25 years. For instance, they have included Elmo in several songs while deleting things that included people no longer on the show. While I miss them, it's minor. The joy and fun of this project still comes through loud and clear. Every Christmas in my house, the album was played again and again until it met a scratchy gloomy end. The music is catchy, simple and remind us of childhood values that our parents aspired us to attain or maintain. Even now, the album retains its charm as an exciting and good way to celebrate Christmas. Perhaps, some themes, such as cutting down a Christmas tree and celebrating it with snow were a little foreign as a child (I was born in Australia), these differences would no longer be a problem to our world smart children. The length of the album may be slightly too long for very young children but will suit the older ones ... Read More: |
